How we rank exchanges
This page explains how exchanges are ordered on the exchange referral code overview and in the sidebar: the overview follows CoinGecko’s exchange ranking by default and can be re-sorted by rebate rate, fee or name, while the sidebar is ordered by rebate rate. Every listed exchange follows the same rules, and the order is never adjusted for any business relationship.
Ranking rules
- By default, the overview follows CoinGecko’s exchange ranking by Trust Score (checked 2026-10-22). Exchanges without a CoinGecko rank are listed last, and exchanges with the same rank are ordered by rebate rate. Visitors can re-sort the overview by rebate rate, fee after the rebate, or name.
- The sidebar, and the overview when sorted by rebate, order exchanges by their automatic fee rebate, highest first.
- Where futures and spot rates differ, the higher rate is used for ordering, and both rates are shown separately, for example “Futures 60%, Spot 35%”.
- Exchanges with the same rate keep the order in which the data was synced.
- Exchanges without an automatic rebate show no figure and are listed last.
- OKX is shown at 20%, its official maximum for invitees.
What the listed rate means
The listed rate is the automatic fee rebate a new user gets after signing up with that code, with no trading volume, VIP level or other threshold. If an exchange’s official rules add tiers or conditions, the exchange’s guide says so.
Rates sync with the exchanges every day, so the order can change daily.
The basis for “highest available”
When a guide calls a rebate the highest available, the basis is the exchange’s own published referral limit. For example, KuCoin publishes a 60% affiliate commission cap and BingX caps referral-code rebates at 45%; a code that passes on the full limit cannot go higher. Each guide links the exchange’s official page.
Which exchanges are listed
We decide which exchanges to list. An exchange is removed automatically when its program is paused, and we may choose not to list a given exchange in some language versions. Every exchange that is listed is ranked by the rules above.
