Updated Rules checked 2026-10-22
The most common way to deposit on HTX (formerly Huobi) is to have USDT ready on another exchange or in a wallet, then go to “Assets” → “Deposit” in the HTX app, choose the network, copy the address and send the funds. If you don’t have any crypto yet, you can buy through HTX’s C2C (P2P) market or through “Quick Buy”, which uses third-party providers. To withdraw, go to “Assets” → “Withdraw” and choose “Blockchain Address Withdrawal” to send the funds to your own wallet or to another exchange; if the recipient also uses HTX, “HTX Account Withdrawal” costs nothing.
The mistakes that most often cost money are choosing the wrong network and forgetting the Memo. HTX’s official guide states that the deposit network must match the withdrawal network chosen on the sending platform; otherwise the assets will not arrive and may be lost. For USDT on the TON network, you must also fill in a tag (Memo) along with the address. HTX’s KYC guide also states that deposits and withdrawals are unlocked only after you complete L1 basic verification (KYC).
Below I’ve put together the deposit and withdrawal steps for the app and the website, the USDT withdrawal fee and confirmations on each network, and how HTX officially handles withdrawals that get stuck, each with an official HTX source.
Key points:
1. HTX’s official API data on 2026-10-22: a USDT withdrawal costs 0.01 USDT on BEP20, 0.5 USDT on TRC20 and 0.3 USDT on ERC20, and the minimum withdrawal on all three is 1 USDT. 6 networks, including Arbitrum, Polygon and Plasma, had withdrawals suspended that day.
2. HTX accepts USDT deposits on 13 networks, and the minimum deposit is 1 USDT on most of them (0.1 USDT on Plasma). Deposits below the minimum are neither credited nor returned.
3. To send to another HTX account, use “HTX Account Withdrawal” with the recipient’s UID, email or phone number; HTX states the fee is 0.
4. For 24 hours after you change any security setting, HTX blocks withdrawals and transfers; deposits and trading are not affected.
5. HTX states that lifting a withdrawal restriction is completely free. Anyone who charges you an “unfreezing fee” or a “deposit” is a scammer.
The information below was checked against official pages on 2026-10-22 (data check date) and is provided for reference.
How to deposit on HTX: USDT deposit steps
Before you start, make sure your account has completed at least L1 basic verification (steps in the HTX KYC identity verification guide), and check which networks the sending side supports. Button names are translated from HTX’s official Traditional Chinese help articles. Some of HTX’s guides were written in 2021 and 2022, so if the interface has changed, follow what you see on screen.
Deposit steps in the app
- Open the HTX app, tap “Assets” in the bottom navigation bar, then tap “Deposit”.
- Choose the token (for example USDT), then the deposit network. The network must be the same one you choose when withdrawing on the sending platform; different networks may show different addresses and fees.
- Copy the deposit address or scan the QR code, and paste it into the withdrawal page of the sending platform. On networks that need a tag, such as TON, fill in both the address and the Memo.
- After sending, go back to “Assets” to check your balance. Once the deposit reaches the confirmation threshold for trading, you can trade it; it can be withdrawn or transferred out only after it reaches the threshold for withdrawals.
Deposit steps on the website
- Log in to the HTX website, click “Assets” in the top-right corner, choose “Spot Account (Deposit & Withdraw)”, then click the deposit button (HTX’s 2022 Chinese-language guide uses a different label for it).
- Click the coin you want to deposit and confirm the mainnet protocol (that is, the network).
- Copy the address or download the QR code, then complete the withdrawal on the sending platform. Once it is sent, a transaction ID (TXID) is generated, which you can look up on a blockchain explorer to follow its progress.
These steps are based on HTX: How to deposit crypto into my account (app), HTX: How to deposit funds into your HTX account and HTX: How to withdraw from HTX to your own wallet (Simplified Chinese). As for arrival time, the English deposit guide (2024-05-08) says deposits usually take 10 to 60 minutes. For the same coin on the same network, HTX lets you generate up to 20 deposit addresses: on the deposit page, tap “More Deposit Addresses” → “Add Address” (HTX’s note on new deposit and withdrawal features). Deposit addresses can be reused, and HTX states it will do its best to notify users of any change through announcements or email.
Which deposit network should I choose, and how many confirmations does it take?
Pick the network that is cheapest on the sending side and also open for deposits on HTX. On 2026-10-22, HTX supported USDT on 13 networks, all open for deposits, but 6 of them had withdrawals suspended. HTX’s app withdrawal guide states that USDT is a “one coin, multiple chains” asset: whichever chain you withdraw on, the same USDT balance is deducted. Going by that guide, USDT deposited over Polygon can be withdrawn over BEP20 or TRC20.
| Network | Minimum deposit (USDT) | Confirmations (to trade / to withdraw) | Withdrawals on this network | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tron (TRC20) | 1 | 1/1 | Open | — |
| Ethereum (ERC20) | 1 | 6/64 | Open | — |
| BNB Smart Chain (BEP20) | 1 | 15/15 | Open | — |
| Solana | 1 | 100/150 | Open | — |
| TON | 1 | 1/1 | Open | Memo required |
| Aptos | 1 | 1/1 | Open | — |
| Avalanche C-Chain | 1 | 30/30 | Open | — |
| Arbitrum One | 1 | 6/64 | Suspended | — |
| Polygon POS | 1 | 128/300 | Suspended | — |
| Plasma | 0.1 | 10/20 | Suspended | — |
| NEAR, CELO, BTT | 1 | 1/1 (BTT 64/64) | Suspended | Less commonly used |
Source: USDT currency data from HTX’s official API, queried on 2026-10-22. The fields are read according to the HTX spot API documentation: a deposit can be traded once it reaches the first confirmation count and withdrawn or transferred out once it reaches the second. Network availability changes often, so check the deposit page before you deposit.
If you picked the wrong network, left out the Memo or sent too small an amount, HTX’s “Deposit issues” guide (Simplified Chinese) and its 2022 Traditional Chinese deposit guide split the cases like this:
- Missing tag, or funds sent to an HTX system address: submit your details through the link on the official page and a staff member will help. For funds sent to a system address, HTX states that processing is still expected to take 1 month after your details are verified.
- A coin HTX hasn’t listed, or a chain HTX doesn’t support: apply through a separate submission link, and a senior specialist will handle it. Cases where a different coin has the same name also go through this route.
- An address that does not belong to HTX: HTX states it cannot handle these.
- Below the minimum deposit: neither credited nor returned. HTX says some coins support crediting small amounts once they add up, so follow the note on the deposit page.
HTX does not officially state what recovery costs. A comparison of recovery rules across exchanges is in how to recover a deposit sent on the wrong network, and terms such as network, Memo and confirmations are explained in deposit and withdrawal terms explained.
Which account does my deposit go to? Can I move it to the futures account?
Deposits go to the spot account; on the website the entry is even called “Spot Account (Deposit & Withdraw)”. HTX announced on 2026-10-19 that the fiat account will be merged into the spot account step by step. The upgrade happens automatically in batches, and assets in the old fiat account are moved to the spot account automatically. After the upgrade, coins bought through OTC can be traded right away without a manual transfer; if the account has an OTC order in progress, the upgrade pauses until the order is completed (HTX account upgrade announcement).
To trade futures, you need to transfer USDT from the “Spot Account” to the “USDT-M Futures Account”: in the app, tap “Futures” at the bottom and then “Transfer”, or tap “Transfer” on the “Assets” page (HTX guide to funding and transferring for futures trading). Note, however, that Section 1.2 of the HTX User Agreement (last updated 2026-09) lists Taiwan among the regions barred from derivatives trading, so users from Taiwan can only use spot. Futures use leverage, and if the price moves against you, your position may be forcibly liquidated.
No USDT yet? How to buy crypto with fiat on HTX
HTX’s official help articles list three ways to get crypto with fiat money. Whether you can use them, and which fiat currencies you can pay with, depends on your region and verification level, so check what the page shows before placing an order.
- C2C (P2P): buy USDT from other users. HTX’s note on buying fees says the fee is 0%, and prices are set by the advertisers. The HTX OTC trading rules state that if a review finds high-risk behavior, such as buying coins on HTX OTC and then selling them on other platforms or off-exchange for profit, the platform may delay withdrawals, restrict trading or freeze the account. The process and the risks are covered in the P2P crypto buying guide.
- Quick Buy (third-party providers): on the app’s home screen, tap “Quick Buy”, choose BTC or USDT and the fiat currency you want to pay with, enter the amount, then choose a payment method (HTX’s example is Mercuryo). Tick the agreement, tap “Continue to Payment”, finish paying on the provider’s page, and the coins will show up in “Assets” (HTX: How to buy bitcoin or stablecoins, 2023-04-12). The official guide does not mention fees.
- Credit/debit card: HTX’s guide to buying crypto with a linked card (published 2020-12-04) lists the supported regions as most European countries, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and others for Visa, while Mastercard is limited to cardholders in the UK, Gibraltar and Poland; only cards in the verified user’s own name are accepted. The fee note says card prices include the issuer’s interchange fee, card network fees and acquiring fees, plus HTX’s spread and a fixed service fee, without listing the rates.
Card purchases also come with an overseas transaction fee charged by your bank; see credit card crypto fees for how it is calculated.
How to withdraw from HTX: withdrawal steps
Withdrawal steps in the app
- Tap “Assets” in the app’s bottom navigation bar, choose “Withdraw”, then choose the token (for example USDT).
- Tap “Blockchain Address Withdrawal”, paste or scan the receiving address, choose the withdrawal network (it must match the network of the receiving address), and enter the amount.
- Once you’ve confirmed the withdrawal address and the amount you will receive, tap “Withdraw” and complete the security verification as prompted.
- Go back to the crypto page under Assets and tap the records icon in the top-right corner to check the withdrawal’s progress and transaction details.
Withdrawal steps on the website
- Log in to the website, click “Assets” in the top-right corner, choose “Spot Account (Deposit & Withdraw)”, then click “Withdraw” in the top-right corner.
- Choose the coin, enter the withdrawal address, choose the withdrawal network and enter the amount.
- Click “Withdraw” to review the details, enter every verification code your account is set up with (for example the email code and the Google Authenticator code), and confirm.
- Check the progress under “Spot Account” → “Financial Records” → “Withdrawal Records”.
These steps are based on HTX: How to withdraw crypto with the HTX app (2024-05-14), HTX’s guide to withdrawing to a wallet and HTX: How do I withdraw coins. HTX recommends sending a small test amount the first time you withdraw to a new wallet, and withdrawing the normal amount once it arrives.
The app withdrawal guide also describes the review process. When you withdraw to a new address, the system may ask for identity verification based on its security assessment, and if verification fails, the withdrawal goes to manual review. Withdrawals to a previously reviewed address may skip manual review depending on the risk score, but they still go to manual review if the account looks abnormal. During a manual review, customer support may verify your details by phone or video call. Once a withdrawal is completed, the assets belong to the owner of the destination address, so check the address once more before you send.
What are HTX’s USDT withdrawal fees and minimums?
| Network | Withdrawal fee (USDT) | Minimum withdrawal (USDT) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| BNB Smart Chain (BEP20) | 0.01 | 1 | Cheapest of the open networks |
| Avalanche C-Chain | 0.04 | 1 | — |
| Aptos | 0.1 | 10 | Higher minimum |
| Ethereum (ERC20) | 0.3 | 1 | Cheaper than TRC20 |
| Solana | 0.3 | 2 | — |
| TON | 0.3 | 1 | Memo required |
| Tron (TRC20) | 0.5 | 1 | Most expensive of the open networks |
| Arbitrum One, Polygon, Plasma, NEAR, CELO, BTT | Withdrawals suspended | — | As of the 2026-10-22 check |
Source: USDT currency data from HTX’s official API, queried on 2026-10-22. HTX’s official fee page loads with JavaScript, so I read the public API instead. On all 7 open networks the fee type is a fixed amount. Fees change, so check the withdrawal page before you withdraw.
The fee is a fixed amount per withdrawal, so the smaller the withdrawal, the larger the percentage. Take a 100 USDT withdrawal: on TRC20 you pay 0.5 USDT, or 0.5%; on ERC20 you pay 0.3 USDT, or 0.3%; on BEP20 it’s only 0.01 USDT, or 0.01%. If you withdraw 10 times a month, TRC20 costs 5 USDT in total and BEP20 costs 0.1 USDT. On the same TRC20 network, Gate charges 1.5 USDT per withdrawal according to the Gate deposit and withdrawal guide, so HTX costs 1 USDT less each time. All of this assumes the recipient supports that network. HTX does not officially state whether the fee is deducted from the withdrawal amount or charged on top; the app guide only asks you to check the “amount received” before you submit. For a comparison across exchanges, see USDT withdrawal fees compared.
HTX has two official statements on withdrawal limits, and they don’t say the same thing. The HTX announcement updating withdrawal limit rules (2023-02-23) states that all coins are converted into BTC and added together: over 24 hours, users who have not passed identity verification get 5 BTC, and verified users get 3000 BTC. A screenshot in the 2023-04-10 KYC guide, on the other hand, shows L1 at 5 BTC, L2 at 200 BTC and L3 at 3000 BTC. Both are from 2023, so check the identity verification page in your own account for your actual limit. When risk controls are triggered, HTX has the right to lower your withdrawal limit. Limits across exchanges are compared in exchange withdrawal limits compared.
How do I set up the address book and the whitelist?
You can save addresses you use often: on the withdrawal page, go to “Address Management” → “Add Address”, fill it in and click “Save”, and you can pick it directly on the withdrawal page next time. HTX’s withdrawal address whitelist works as a restriction: once it is on, you can only withdraw to whitelisted addresses that have taken effect. This applies to both the app and the website, but withdrawals through the API are not affected. HTX’s English help articles describe the settings most completely (website, app, 2025-11-26):
- Website: “Assets” → “Withdraw”, then on the withdrawal page click Withdrawal Address and turn on the Whitelist switch.
- App: tap your profile picture in the top-left corner of the home screen, find the settings icon, go to Security → Withdrawal Address, and turn on the whitelist.
- When you turn it on, you choose a waiting period. If you set 3 days, for example, newly added addresses can be used only after 3 calendar days. You can cancel during the waiting period.
- When adding an address, tick the option to add it to the whitelist. If you don’t, it is saved only as a regular address and can’t be used for withdrawals while the whitelist is on.
- Shortening the waiting period or turning off the whitelist both require review by an administrator, which HTX says can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few days. After the whitelist is turned off, all whitelisted addresses become regular addresses again.
Every change to the whitelist triggers a notification to your registered email or phone. If your account is compromised, the waiting period buys you time. I recommend whitelisting only your own wallets or your own deposit addresses on other exchanges. Security settings across exchanges are compared in exchange account security settings.
Is there a fee to send to another HTX user?
No. In the app, go to “Assets” → “Withdraw”, choose the token, tap “HTX Account Withdrawal”, and enter the recipient’s UID, email or phone number and the amount to send it. The official app guide states that HTX platform addresses carry a 0 fee, with the fee refunded to your current account, and that with the fast withdrawal feature turned on, the transfer goes through a fast channel without waiting for block confirmations (HTX app withdrawal guide). When you save an HTX account in “Address Management”, the platform checks it first, and anything that isn’t a valid HTX account can’t be added; an address you type in directly is used only once and isn’t saved (HTX’s note on new deposit and withdrawal features).
This feature occasionally goes down for maintenance: on 2023-04-16, HTX announced that account withdrawals were suspended, and during that time only blockchain address withdrawals were available (HTX internal fast transfer maintenance announcement). Once an internal transfer is sent, the assets belong to the recipient, so check the UID digit by digit before you transfer. What else a UID can be used for, and when you shouldn’t share it, is covered in what an exchange UID is.
What to do if an HTX withdrawal is stuck or fails
The table below lists the situations in HTX’s official help articles that can pause or delay a withdrawal. Most are security mechanisms that lift once the time is up or you’ve provided the missing information.
| Situation | What HTX says | What to do | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| You changed a security setting | For 24 hours after any security setting is changed, withdrawals and transfers are blocked; deposits and trading are not affected | Wait the full 24 hours and it lifts automatically; if you didn’t make the change yourself, contact official customer support right away | Unbinding, resetting or changing security items, Reasons an account is restricted |
| Recently deposited coins | Until a deposit reaches the block confirmations required for withdrawal, it can’t be withdrawn | Wait until the confirmations are reached and it lifts automatically | Reasons an account is restricted |
| Identity check for a new address | Verification may be required based on the security assessment; if it fails, the withdrawal goes to manual review, and support may verify by phone or video call | Complete it as prompted and cooperate with support’s verification | App withdrawal guide |
| Anti-money-laundering risk control triggered | Suspicious incoming assets, withdrawals to risky addresses and similar cases restrict some features; you must submit information through the pop-up, and the result is sent to your linked email | Log in, go to “Customer Service Center” → “Self-Service” → “Lift Withdrawal Restriction” and submit a ticket; HTX says it replies within 24 hours | Announcement on appeals to lift withdrawal restrictions |
| P2P-related | Selling bought coins on other platforms for profit, letting others use your account and similar behavior allow the platform to delay or restrict withdrawals | Provide the information support asks for | OTC trading rules |
| Judicial freeze | After receiving a freeze order from a judicial authority, account features are restricted and assets are frozen | Contact support, and contact the judicial authority that ordered the freeze to cooperate with the investigation | Reasons an account is restricted |
| Network suspended or coin under maintenance | The network’s withdrawal status changes to suspended | Switch to another open network, or wait for HTX to restore it | Official currency API |
Sources are linked in the table, checked on 2026-10-22; some of the articles exist only in Simplified Chinese. If you can’t log in to your account, HTX’s official appeal method is to email [email protected] from your linked email address, and support replies within 24 hours. During the process, you may be asked for video KYC or proof of the source of funds.
More complex cases, such as an account restricted by risk control or a request for additional documents, are covered in what to do if your exchange account is frozen. HTX’s appeal announcement states that lifting a withdrawal restriction is completely free, and anyone who charges money as an “unfreezing fee”, “handling fee” or “deposit” is a scammer. HTX also states that it will never send text messages asking you to withdraw, let alone ask you to transfer funds privately (HTX risk warning on scams that lure you into withdrawing). Common tactics are covered in fake exchange withdrawal scams, and in Taiwan you can call the 165 anti-fraud hotline to check.
FAQ
Does HTX charge a fee for deposits?
Neither HTX’s deposit guides nor its public USDT network data list a deposit fee; what you pay is the withdrawal fee on the sending side. In HTX’s official data on 2026-10-22, the minimum USDT deposit is 1 USDT on most networks (0.1 USDT on Plasma), and deposits below the minimum are neither credited nor returned.
Which network is cheapest for withdrawing USDT from HTX?
Among the networks open for withdrawals on 2026-10-22, BEP20 is the cheapest at 0.01 USDT per withdrawal, with a 1 USDT minimum. Next is Avalanche C-Chain at 0.04 USDT; TRC20 charges 0.5 USDT, which is more than ERC20’s 0.3 USDT. Before choosing, confirm that the recipient supports that network.
How long does an HTX withdrawal take to arrive?
HTX does not officially state how long withdrawals take to process. What it does state is that deposits usually arrive within 10 to 60 minutes. If a withdrawal goes to manual review, support may verify your details by phone or video call, which takes longer. Transfers to another HTX account with fast withdrawal turned on don’t need to wait for block confirmations.
Can I withdraw from HTX without KYC?
According to HTX’s 2023-04-10 KYC guide, deposits and withdrawals are unlocked only after you complete L1 basic verification. L1 only asks for your nationality, ID number, name and date of birth. A separate limit announcement from 2023-02-23 lists a 24-hour limit of 5 BTC for users who haven’t passed identity verification. The two say different things, so go by what your account page shows.
Why can’t I withdraw from HTX after changing my password or 2FA?
After any security setting is changed, HTX blocks withdrawals and transfers for 24 hours, while deposits and trading continue as normal. This is a protection mechanism that lifts automatically when the period ends. HTX states that it charges nothing to lift a withdrawal restriction, so anyone asking you to pay to “lift it early” is a scammer.
What if I forgot the Memo when depositing to HTX?
Go to HTX’s “Deposit issues” help page and submit your details through the link there, and a staff member will help you recover the funds. HTX does not officially state the processing time or fee; it only states that for funds sent to a platform system address, processing is still expected to take 1 month after your details are verified. If the address doesn’t belong to HTX, HTX cannot handle it.
What is the cheapest way to move coins between two HTX accounts?
Use “HTX Account Withdrawal” with the recipient’s UID, email or phone number; HTX states the fee is 0. On-chain, even the cheapest network, BEP20, costs 0.01 USDT per withdrawal, and TRC20 costs 0.5 USDT. Check the recipient’s account digit by digit before you send.
Can users from Taiwan transfer USDT to an HTX futures account to trade?
No. Section 1.2 of the HTX User Agreement (last updated 2026-09) bars users from Taiwan from derivatives trading, regardless of KYC level. USDT that users from Taiwan deposit can only be used for spot trading or withdrawn.
If you don’t have an HTX account yet, sign-up steps and the referral code are in HTX referral code. Identity verification steps are in the HTX KYC guide, spot trading fees and fee discounts in HTX fees, the security record, reserves and restricted regions in HTX review, and the security settings worth turning on before you withdraw in exchange account security settings. For deposit and withdrawal guides on other exchanges, see how to deposit and withdraw on Binance and how to deposit and withdraw on OKX.
