The referral rebate is a fee discount offered by KuCoin itself: the exchange sets the rate and pays the refund directly. What follows is information I compiled for reference.
Below: where the number comes from, how to sign up, worked rebate examples, which trades earn no rebate, and common questions.
Why is this KuCoin referral code the highest rebate available?
In KuCoin’s referral program, the referrer earns a commission and decides how much of it to share with the invitee. KuCoin’s rules say the rebate a referrer gives can’t be higher than the referrer’s own current commission rate (KuCoin referral program), and the commission cap KuCoin publishes for its affiliate program is 60% (KuCoin affiliate program).
So the most an invitee can get is a 60% rebate, which means the referrer passes the entire commission to the invitee. For comparison, the OKX affiliate FAQ puts the invitee rebate at 0% to 20%. (Official pages checked on 2026-10-06.)
This code currently gives invitees an automatic rebate of 60%.

KuCoin’s sign-up page doesn’t show the rebate rate after you enter a referral code. The screenshot below is this code’s rebate setting in KuCoin’s referral dashboard, with the code and the rate set for invitees.

How do you enter a referral code when signing up for KuCoin?
- Open KuCoin through the sign-up link below and enter the email address or phone number you want to register.
- When you set your password, check that the referral code field has been filled in automatically.
- If it hasn’t, the link may have expired. Type the referral code in by hand.
Steps based on KuCoin’s official sign-up guide (checked on 2026-10-06).
KuCoin’s own wording varies. Its English help guide says “Referral Code,” its older English sign-up guide says “invitation code,” and its Traditional Chinese help and referral pages also call it an invitation code. They all mean the same field on the sign-up page, which is what this article calls the referral code. According to KuCoin’s guide, on both the website and the app you enter the referral code (if any) on the sign-up screen from the KuCoin homepage, together with your email or phone number; if you came through an invite link, the code shows up automatically when you set your password. For signing up with Apple ID or Telegram (app only), KuCoin shows the flow only in an image and doesn’t say in text where the code goes. (KuCoin Sign Up and Login Help Guide for New Users, version updated 2026-07-07; KuCoin Sign up Guide; checked on 2026-10-19.)
After signing up you also need to verify your identity. Since August 31, 2023, KuCoin has required identity verification (KYC) for all users, and unverified accounts can’t deposit (KuCoin announcement).
What if you already have a KuCoin account?
KuCoin says an invitee is bound to the referrer at registration, so the referral relationship is fixed when the account is created. If you didn’t enter a code at sign-up, you can now submit a “Link Referrer” request in the help center’s Self-Service section; if you already have a referrer, you can request “Unlink Referrer”. KuCoin reviews both and doesn’t state a deadline, conditions or review time (checked 2026-10-22).
KuCoin invitation code vs invite link
An invitation code is something you type into the sign-up page yourself; an invite link carries the same code into the page and fills it in for you. Both create the same referral relationship. The only difference is how the code gets entered, and both work only at sign-up; adding one later means submitting a separate “Link Referrer” request.
| Aspect | Invitation code | Invite link |
|---|---|---|
| How it’s used | Typed into the field by hand at sign-up | Open the link to reach the sign-up page; the code appears when you set your password |
| What can go wrong | A typo, so check the code once more before you submit | The link may have expired; then the code isn’t filled in and you type it by hand |
| During sign-up | KuCoin doesn’t state anything further | KuCoin’s older guide warns not to switch pages while registering, or the invitation becomes invalid |
| Adding it after sign-up | Not on the sign-up page; you can submit a “Link Referrer” request, reviewed by KuCoin, conditions not stated | Same as the code |
Sources: KuCoin Sign Up and Login Help Guide for New Users (version updated 2026-07-07), KuCoin Sign up Guide (published 2017) and the KuCoin referral page, checked on 2026-10-19; the “Link Referrer” request is in the KuCoin help center’s Self-Service section, checked 2026-10-22.
To make sure the code was applied, KuCoin puts the checkpoint at sign-up: its guide says that if a friend invited you, check that their code appears when you set your password, and type it in by hand if it doesn’t. KuCoin’s referral page says that once an invited friend registers, “they will be linked to you,” but KuCoin doesn’t say where an invitee can see that link after signing up. For checking after sign-up, see “How can I check whether my KuCoin referral code is bound?” in the common questions below.
How is the KuCoin referral rebate calculated?
The rebate is a share of the trading fees you pay, not of your trading volume. KuCoin’s referral program says commission is calculated on the trading fees invitees actually pay. If you pay 100 USDT in fees in a month and the automatic rebate is 10%, you get 10 USDT back that month.
KuCoin’s standard fees
| Market | Maker | Taker |
|---|---|---|
| Spot | 0.1% | 0.1% |
| Futures | 0.02% | 0.06% |
The 0.1% spot rate is KuCoin’s standard rate (KuCoin support); the 0.02%/0.06% futures rates are the VIP 0 rates given on KuCoin’s official blog. Higher VIP levels pay less, and the KuCoin fee page prevails (checked on 2026-10-07).
Example: futures (taker 0.06%)
| Monthly volume | Fees (0.06%) | Auto rebate (60%) | Net fees |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10,000 USDT | 6 USDT | 3.6 USDT | 2.4 USDT |
| 100,000 USDT | 60 USDT | 36 USDT | 24 USDT |
| 1,000,000 USDT | 600 USDT | 360 USDT | 240 USDT |
Example at a futures fee rate of 0.06% and the current 60% automatic rebate (rate updated 2026-10-24). Your exchange statement prevails.
Example: spot (0.1%)
| Monthly volume | Fees (0.1%) | Auto rebate (60%) | Net fees |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10,000 USDT | 10 USDT | 6 USDT | 4 USDT |
| 100,000 USDT | 100 USDT | 60 USDT | 40 USDT |
| 1,000,000 USDT | 1,000 USDT | 600 USDT | 400 USDT |
Example at a spot fee rate of 0.1% and the current 60% automatic rebate (rate updated 2026-10-24). Your exchange statement prevails.
The rebate rate in these tables syncs with the exchange every day, so the figures update when the rate changes.
When you pay spot and margin fees with KCS, KuCoin returns 20% of the fee in KCS. KuCoin doesn’t explain how the KCS discount and the referral rebate combine, so check your account records for the actual amounts.
Which trades earn no rebate?
The invitee’s rebate is a share of the referrer’s commission. KuCoin’s affiliate program says no commission is paid in the cases below, so these trades usually earn no rebate either:
- zero-fee trades;
- trades by invitees at higher VIP levels (the same KuCoin page says LV3 in one place and LV4 or above in another, so the current rule on KuCoin prevails);
- abnormal registrations, trading or arbitrage, for which KuCoin can stop rebates.
KuCoin also states that if the referrer’s commission rate falls below the rate set for invitees, the invitee’s rebate falls with it (KuCoin affiliate program 2025 guide, checked on 2026-10-07). The rebate figure on this page syncs daily, so it updates if the rate changes.
KuCoin sign-up bonuses (new-user tasks, trial funds) vs the referral code rebate: what’s the difference?
KuCoin’s new-user tasks, trial funds and vouchers are one-off promotions. You usually have to complete tasks such as identity verification, a deposit or a trading volume target to get them; amounts and conditions change from campaign to campaign and they expire, so the campaign page and its terms are what count. The referral code rebate is bound at sign-up, and from then on a share of every fee you actually pay is refunded automatically. It’s separate from the sign-up bonus, so you don’t have to choose one or the other.
The new-user rewards in the KuCoin Rewards Hub are tied to a few tasks: signing up, identity verification and a first deposit (or crypto purchase). They have to be completed within 30 days of signing up, each user can claim them only once, and deposits made with red packets or trial funds don’t count (KuCoin Rewards Hub FAQ, version updated 2026-03-16, checked 2026-10-15). Futures trial funds can’t be withdrawn themselves; profits earned with them can be withdrawn once the conditions are met, and any remaining trial funds are taken back after you withdraw the profits (KuCoin trial fund guide). KuCoin doesn’t state how trial funds and the referral code rebate are calculated together. For the full comparison, see fee vouchers vs referral code rebates.

Where is KuCoin not available?
KuCoin’s terms of use list restricted locations including the United States (and its territories), Singapore, mainland China and Hong Kong, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Ontario and British Columbia in Canada, France, the Netherlands, and the Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions of Ukraine. The list changes; the KuCoin terms of use prevail (version updated 2026-09-29).
Common questions
Does the KuCoin rebate expire?
KuCoin’s affiliate program says invitees who registered after September 22, 2022 have a lifetime commission period. The rate itself can change with the referrer’s commission rate, as explained under “Which trades earn no rebate”.
When does the rebate arrive?
KuCoin doesn’t publish when or into which account the invitee’s rebate is paid. It says the referrer’s commission is settled daily and paid the next day; for the invitee’s rebate, your account records are the reference.
Do I have to verify my identity?
Yes. Since August 31, 2023, KuCoin has required identity verification for all users, and unverified accounts can’t deposit.
Where do I enter a KuCoin invitation code?
On the sign-up page, and it works the same on the website and the app: the code field is on the screen where you enter your email or phone number, and you can leave it blank if you don’t have a code. “Invitation code” and “Referral Code” are the names different KuCoin pages use for that same field. If you came through an invite link, the code is filled in when you set your password, so just confirm it’s the code you want. Once the account is registered, you can no longer enter one on the sign-up page; the only route is a “Link Referrer” request in the help center’s Self-Service section, reviewed by KuCoin.
What if the referral code isn’t filled in automatically?
KuCoin says the invite link may have expired. Type the referral code in by hand, and check the field once more before you submit.
Can I still add a KuCoin referral code after signing up?
You can submit a request, but KuCoin has to review it. The help center’s Self-Service section now has a “Link Referrer” request, and if you already have a referrer you can request “Unlink Referrer”; KuCoin doesn’t state a deadline, conditions or review time (checked 2026-10-22).
What existing account holders can still do is covered in the KuCoin referral switch guide; for how exchanges compare on adding a code later, see can you add a referral code after signing up?
How can I check whether my KuCoin referral code is bound?
KuCoin doesn’t offer invitees a way to see their referrer, so the best moment to confirm is at sign-up: before you submit, check that the referral code field holds the code you mean to use.
KuCoin only says the cashback is paid automatically, not which record it appears in. After signing up, you can check your asset records for cashback, or give your UID to customer support to look it up. How to check on each exchange is covered in how to check whether your referral code is bound.
What are KuCoin’s trading fees?
For regular KuCoin users (VIP 0), spot fees fall into three classes by coin: Class A 0.1%, Class B 0.2% and Class C 0.3%, the same for maker and taker; futures are 0.02% maker and 0.06% taker.
Paying spot and margin fees with KCS gives 20% off; this doesn’t apply to futures. How coins are classified, VIP thresholds and withdrawal fees are covered in KuCoin trading fees.
Is KuCoin safe?
No exchange can guarantee safety; what you can look at is its track record. On 2020-09-25, about US$281 million was stolen from KuCoin’s hot wallets; 84% was later recovered and the rest was covered by its insurance fund. On 2025-01-27, its operator Peken Global pleaded guilty in the US to operating an unlicensed money transmitting business, with fines and forfeiture totaling more than US$297 million.
KuCoin’s reserve figures for 2026-09-30 were BTC 109%, ETH 117% and USDT 110%. The full record is in the exchange safety record and exchange proof of reserves compared.
