If you signed up with a referral code and see no rebate, the three most common reasons are that the code never bound, the rebate hasn’t been credited yet, or the trade doesn’t earn a rebate in the first place. Four more are easy to overlook: you downloaded the app first and the referral bound to a different channel, the fee was covered by a voucher or trial funds, the invitee’s VIP level or rebate period ran past the limit, or risk control flagged the trades. There’s also the case where the code is bound but the rebate rate your referrer gives you is 0%.
I suggest checking in this order: first confirm the referral relationship exists, then wait past the crediting time the exchange states, then compare the trade against the rules on what doesn’t earn a rebate, and finally use one formula to work back to the amount. If there’s still nothing after all four steps, take your UID to the exchange’s support. Every item below cites the exchanges’ official rules.
The referral code’s fee discount is an official offer from the exchange, refunded automatically by the exchange. Bybit is the exception: this site has no exchange automatic rebate for Bybit, and its rebate goes through Fee Otter, so how to check it is explained separately further down. Below is a self-check list I compiled from each exchange’s official pages, for reference.
Key points
The rebate is calculated on the fee you actually pay. Fees covered by vouchers, trial funds or rebate cards earn no rebate at OKX, MEXC, WEEX and other exchanges.
Crediting times differ: Gate says rebates usually arrive instantly, or within 1–2 hours in special cases; Binance converts them to USDC every hour and credits the spot account within 6 hours; XT.COM pays the day after the trade (T+1).
OKX states that a rebate rate showing 0% still means the code is bound; that channel simply has no rebate set, and OKX can’t backdate payouts on the affiliate’s behalf.
Commission stops when the invitee’s level is too high: Binance VIP 3 and above, OKX VIP7 and above, HTX Prime 9 and above and KuCoin LV3 and above generate no commission, and the invitee’s rebate goes with it.
You can check the amount by working backwards: rebate received ÷ rebate rate ≈ fees you paid.
The information below was verified against official pages on 2026-10-14 (data check date), for reference.
No rebate? What to check at each of 13 exchanges
Start by finding your exchange’s row. The second column shows whether you can see the binding yourself; the third lists the cases where the exchange says no rebate is paid, or where the rebate stops:
| Exchange | Can you see the binding yourself? | Officially stated exclusions or stop conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Binance | No lookup page for invitees is described officially; check your spot account for USDC rebates | Zero-fee trades; VIP 3 and above; futures rebates stop when the referrer’s 12-month period ends |
| OKX | Yes: the “My rewards” or “Referral rewards” page shows the rebate rate | Fees covered by rebate cards, futures trial funds or deduction vouchers; fee-free coins; special fee rates; VIP7 and above; the EEA version says Buy/Sell and Convert don’t count |
| Bybit | Yes: the affiliate code field on the account info page | This site has no applicable exchange automatic rebate; the rebate goes through Fee Otter |
| Bitget | No official lookup page | Zero-fee trades, trades using a rebate card (the rebate is issued through the card instead), special fee rates |
| Gate | No official lookup page; check the “Referral rebate income” records | If the inviter and invitee use the same IP, the referral is invalid |
| MEXC | Yes: Invite Friends → “My Inviter” | API trading, fees covered by futures trial funds, abnormal trading |
| BingX | “My Inviter” is where you add a code; the exchange doesn’t say whether it shows the referrer after binding | Self-referral, multi-account arbitrage and wash trading; BingX can adjust or remove commission |
| KuCoin | No official lookup page | API trading, zero-fee trades, invitees at LV3 and above |
| HTX | No official lookup page | Spot cashback vouchers, futures trial funds, zero or negative fees, Prime 9 and above |
| XT.COM | No official lookup page; check “Futures Cashback” and “Spot Cashback” in your funding records | Fees covered by deduction vouchers, sub-accounts; single positions opened and closed within 60 seconds |
| WEEX | No official lookup page | Fees covered by futures trial funds or deduction vouchers; abnormal trading such as opening and closing within 5 minutes |
| Pionex | Yes: avatar → “Referral Code” (app) or Dashboard (web) | Stock-token spot and MEME; invitees who don’t make a first deposit and trade within 30 days of signing up |
| Ourbit | Yes: “My Referrer” on the referral page | Spot currently has 0 fees, so no rebate; fees covered by futures trial funds; leveraged trading |

The table is compiled from each exchange’s official documentation. “No official lookup page” means the help center has no page where invitees can view their referrer. It doesn’t mean the interface definitely lacks one, so go by what you see after logging in. For the full lookup path at each exchange, see the referral code lookup guide.
Reason 1: Is the referral code actually bound?
Look for the referrer field in your account. The referral relationship exists only if a referrer is shown. Where each exchange shows it:
| Exchange | Where to check |
|---|---|
| Binance | Web: Profile → Referral → Referral Pro → "Share Commissions"; app: Referral on the home screen → Referral Pro |
| BingX | Profile settings → "My Referrer" |
| MEXC | Capital History |
| OKX | App: Menu → User Center → "My Rewards" |
| Ourbit | Referral page → "Referral Kickback" records |
| Pionex | App: Home → My Account → Deposit → clock icon → "Invitee Cashback"; web: More → Rebate |
| XT.COM | Spot account → Fund history → Distribution |

If the referrer field is empty, the code didn’t bind at sign-up. Some exchanges let you add one later; the deadlines and steps are in the rules for adding a referral code after sign-up. None of the windows are long: Binance and MEXC allow 30 days from sign-up, Pionex 14 days, and Binance also requires that the account has never deposited or traded.
Another case is “bound, but the rebate is 0%.” The referrer sets the rebate rate. If they share nothing with you, the referral relationship still exists; every trade just refunds 0. OKX’s affiliate FAQ for the EEA states that 0% on the “Referral rewards” page still means you’re bound, and only the channel you bound to has no rebate set. OKX can’t change the rate on the affiliate’s behalf, and it can’t backdate payouts either (OKX affiliate FAQ (EEA), updated 2026-10-01). Pionex is designed the same way: the discount rate is fixed when the referrer creates the code. An account like this already has a referrer, so you can’t add a code; the only route left is each exchange’s referral code switching rules.
Reason 2: Can downloading the app first make the referral code disappear?
A referral link usually has to be completed on the same browser page. If you first download the app from an app store or an ad and then register in the app, the referral may bind to a different channel:
| Exchange | App sign-up caveats | Official source |
|---|---|---|
| OKX | If you clicked a referral link or installed the app with a code in the past 30 days, that code may be tied to your device; downloading the app before finishing sign-up can break the binding | OKX affiliate program rules |
| XT.COM | If you installed the XT app through an ad or another referral channel and register in that app, the referral may bind to that channel | XT.COM risk control rules |
Compiled from each exchange's official pages on 2026-10-08; the exchange's current pages prevail. The other exchanges don't publish this.
OKX’s referral program FAQ explains this most clearly: if you open a referral link, then download the app separately and register in the app, the code carried by the link may not be applied. The referral code has to be entered before registration is complete and can’t be added afterward (OKX referral program FAQ). For phone users, OKX suggests first binding your email on the invite page, then downloading the app from the link and registering with the same email. If you’ve already registered, this one can’t be fixed after the fact; go back to reason 1 and see whether you can add a code. For how app sign-up differs by exchange, see will your referral code bind if you sign up in the app.
Reason 3: How long does a rebate take to arrive?
Some exchanges refund each trade in real time; others pay the next day, so checking straight after a trade may show nothing:
| Exchange | Settlement |
|---|---|
| Binance | Converted to USDC hourly and paid to the spot account within 6 hours |
| Bitfinex | Paid in the token the fee was collected in (fiat and LEO converted to BTC or USDt) |
| Gate | Credited to the spot account after each trade, occasionally within 1–2 hours |
| MEXC | Paid the day after the trade |
| Ourbit | Next day around 08:00 (spot) / 09:00 (futures) UTC+8, in the fee currency |
| Pionex | Credited in USDT to the primary account after the trade; records update hourly |
| XT.COM | Credited to the spot account the next day (T+1) |
| BingX | Not published by the exchange |
| Bitget | Not published by the exchange |
| HTX | Not published by the exchange |
| KuCoin | Not published by the exchange |
| OKX | Not published by the exchange |
| WEEX | Not published by the exchange |

Converted to Taiwan time (UTC+8), this table shows when a missing rebate is actually worth worrying about:
| Exchange | Officially stated crediting time | Still nothing after this? Check again | Where to look |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gate | Instantly after the trade; 1–2 hours in special cases | 2 hours after the trade | Wallet → Transaction history → filter “Referral rebate income” |
| Binance | Converted to USDC every hour, credited within 6 hours | 6 hours after the trade | Spot account |
| OKX | The EEA version says each trade is refunded individually | No time limit stated; go by your funding records | Assets → Order center → Funding history |
| MEXC | Before 01:00 (UTC) the next day | 9 a.m. the next day | The record name isn’t stated; check the funding records under Assets |
| XT.COM | The day after the trade (T+1) | The day after the trade | Spot account → Funding records → Distribution |
| Ourbit | Around 08:00 (spot) and 09:00 (futures) the next day; may be delayed | The next morning; check again a little later | “Self-rebate records” on the referral page |
| Pionex | Refunded in USDT to the main account after the trade | No time limit stated | USDT History in the main account |
Binance’s announcement gives an example: for trades between 14:00 and 15:00, the commission is converted to USDC between 15:00 and 16:00 and deposited into the spot account by 21:00 the same day at the latest (Binance USDC payout announcement, in effect from 2025-02-13). Gate’s timing is in its referral program upgrade announcement (Gate referral program upgrade announcement); MEXC’s 01:00 (UTC) is 9 a.m. Taiwan time (MEXC commission-sharing announcement). Bitget, BingX, KuCoin, HTX and WEEX aren’t in the table because they don’t state when invitee rebates are credited; I’d wait at least until the next day, then look in your asset records.
Reason 4: Which trades never earn a rebate?
Most exchanges don’t pay rebates on API trading, zero-fee trades, special fee rates and similar cases:
| Exchange | Trades without a rebate | Official source |
|---|---|---|
| Binance | Zero-fee trades; users at VIP 3 and above; market-maker rebates are deducted first | Binance Referral Pro update |
| Bitfinex | Only margin funding and Borrow fees generate the rebate (trading fees are already zero) | Bitfinex affiliate program guide |
| Bitget | Zero-fee trades, trades with rebate cards (paid as rebate cards instead), and special fee rates | Bitget referral program notice |
| HTX | Trades using spot cashback vouchers or futures trial bonuses; zero- and negative-fee trades; market makers; Prime 9 and above | HTX referral rules |
| KuCoin | API trading and zero-fee trades earn no commission | KuCoin referral program |
| MEXC | API trading, fees offset by futures bonuses, and abnormal trading | MEXC referral rules |
| OKX | Fee-free coins; trades using rebate cards, futures credits or vouchers; special fee rates; broker and market-maker accounts; VIP7 and above (VIP5–6 have a monthly cap) | OKX affiliate program rules |
| Ourbit | Fees offset by futures bonuses and margin trades; spot trading currently has zero fees | Ourbit invite page rules |
| Pionex | Stock-token spot and MEME earn no commission | Pionex affiliate program v3 |
| WEEX | Fees offset by futures trial funds or deduction vouchers | WEEX abnormal trading rules |
| XT.COM | Fees paid with deduction vouchers, sub-accounts, and some coins excluded by announcement | XT.COM risk control rules |
| BingX | Not published by the exchange | — |
| Gate | Not published by the exchange | — |
Compiled from each exchange's official pages on 2026-10-10; the exchange's current pages prevail. Most exchanges state these terms in the referrer's commission rules; the invitee's rebate is a share of that commission.
A zero-fee trading pair charges no fee, so naturally there’s no rebate. Ourbit has charged 0 fees on all spot trading since 2024-09-03, so if you only trade spot, an empty self-rebate record is normal (Ourbit zero-fee spot announcement). OKX’s EEA documentation also states that Buy/Sell and Convert use quotes with a built-in spread rather than order-book fees, so they don’t count toward rebates.
Your region matters too. Binance states that from 2026-07-01, users registered in EEA countries can’t take part in the referral program; if the invitee is a Hong Kong resident, neither the referrer nor the invitee gets commission; and regions such as Japan, the UK and Turkey have restrictions of their own (Binance referral program supplementary terms). Accounts in restricted regions get no rebate even with a referral code bound.
Reason 5: Why does the rebate shrink when you use vouchers, trial funds or the exchange token?
The rebate is calculated on the fee you actually pay. Any part covered by trial funds, vouchers or rebate cards is a zero fee and earns no rebate; WEEX, MEXC and OKX all state this. Paying fees with the exchange’s own token lowers the fee you pay, so the rebate amount goes down with it.
At these exchanges, what a voucher really saves you is the fee it covers multiplied by (1 − rebate rate). For example, at a 20% rebate rate, a voucher covers 10 USDT of fees. Those 10 USDT would have refunded 2 USDT, and now they don’t, so the voucher actually saves you only 10 × (1 − 20%) = 8 USDT. That’s why the rebate looks smaller on those days.
Exchange-token discounts work differently. At Binance, for example, the standard USDⓈ-M futures rate is Maker 0.02% and Taker 0.05%, with 10% off when you pay fees in BNB (Binance futures fee guide). A 10 USDT fee becomes 9 USDT when paid in BNB, and the rebate is calculated on 9 USDT. The fee and the rebate both shrink, but your total cost is still lower than without the discount. Fee rebate vouchers at Binance and Gate follow another rule: the referral commission share is taken out first, and the voucher refunds only the remaining fee, so you get both. How each exchange’s vouchers and rebates combine is covered in fee vouchers vs referral code rebates.
Reason 6: Does the rebate stop at a certain VIP level or after a time limit?
Some exchanges stop or cap referral commission at high VIP levels, and since the invitee’s rebate is a share of that commission, it’s affected as well:
- Binance: only regular users and VIP 1–2 generate commission; VIP 3 and above don’t (Binance Referral Pro FAQ, checked 2026-10-14).
- OKX: VIP5 and VIP6 have a monthly cap; VIP7 and above earn no rebate.
- HTX: users at Prime 9 or above don’t generate commission.
- KuCoin: invitees at LV3 or above don’t generate commission.
(OKX affiliate rules, HTX referral rules, KuCoin affiliate program announcement, checked 2026-10-14)
Besides levels, the rebate may also have a time limit. Binance’s futures commission counts for only 12 months from when the invitee opens a futures account, and only referrers with a futures commission rating of 30% or higher are exempt. When that period ends, the invitee’s futures rebate stops too; for spot, no time limit is stated officially (same Binance FAQ). Pionex states that a regular inviter’s (non-KOL) commission covers only 365 calendar days after the invitee signs up, and if the invitee doesn’t make a first deposit and trade within 30 calendar days of signing up, later trades also fall outside the inviter’s rebate scope (Pionex rebate rules). Pionex doesn’t state whether the invitee’s own fee discount stops as well, so if you’ve just signed up, depositing and trading within 30 days is the safer choice. The Ourbit referral page gives the referrer rebate a validity of 1080 days from the friend’s sign-up date.
The levels where rebates stop mostly require 30-day trading volume of several million to more than ten million USD, which ordinary trading volume rarely reaches. If your rebate suddenly stops, first check your VIP level and sign-up date in your account; each exchange’s thresholds are in referral rebates for VIP users.
Reason 7: Can a rebate be cancelled if risk control flags your trades?
Opening and closing positions repeatedly within a short time, referring yourself, or trading across several accounts can all get rebates cancelled or withheld. XT.COM and WEEX give exact seconds and minutes; every exchange’s rules are compared in when rebates are cancelled or withheld.
These are the rules stated in numbers. At XT.COM, the rebate is cancelled on any single position opened and closed within 60 seconds, and more than 8 such trades in a day may trigger risk control; if over 60% of trades are opened and closed within 3 minutes, or over 75% within 5 minutes, the platform may withhold rebates (XT.COM risk control rules). WEEX lists opening and closing within 5 minutes, self-trading, and farming fees across multiple devices or accounts as abnormal trading. Under a yellow card, rebates are returned 14 days after normal trading volume is made up; red and black cards get nothing back (WEEX abnormal trading policy). Bitget treats referrals from the same IP or device as self-referral, and at Gate a referral is invalid when the inviter and invitee share the same IP. If you share a network with family and sign up with each other’s referral codes, these two exchanges may not recognize the referral.
Ordinary spot or futures trading won’t come near these thresholds. Futures use leverage, and a price move against you can get your position liquidated, so don’t trade more often just to earn rebates.
How do you check the rebate amount yourself?
If a rebate arrives but you aren’t sure the amount is right, work backwards:
rebate received ÷ rebate rate ≈ fees you paid
For example, at a 20% rebate rate, 6 USDT of rebates this month works back to 30 USDT of fees. Then add up what you actually paid in the exchange’s fee or funding records. If the two are close, the rebate is being paid at the stated rate. If they’re far apart, go back to reasons 4 to 6; usually some trades didn’t qualify. The 20% here is only an example; each exchange’s actual rate is on the exchange referral code overview.
You can also go the other way and work out what you should receive first: expected rebate = trade amount × fee rate × rebate rate. Take Binance USDⓈ-M futures at Taker 0.05%: opening a 10,000 USDT position at market costs 10,000 × 0.05% = 5 USDT in fees, and closing the 10,000 USDT position at market costs another 5 USDT, so the round trip is 10 USDT. With the BNB discount on, it’s 9 USDT. The USDC that reaches your spot account 6 hours later should be close to 10 USDT (or 9 USDT) times your rebate rate. Count the open and the close separately; both are charged fees.
If you sign up with this site’s Binance referral code, the current exchange automatic rebate (fee discount) is 20%. The table below shows the fees and rebates for different trade amounts at the same Taker 0.05%, for checking against the USDC records in your spot account:
| Monthly volume | Fees (0.05%) | Auto rebate (20%) | Net fees |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10,000 USDT | 5 USDT | 1 USDT | 4 USDT |
| 100,000 USDT | 50 USDT | 10 USDT | 40 USDT |
| 1,000,000 USDT | 500 USDT | 100 USDT | 400 USDT |
Example at a futures fee rate of 0.05% and the current 20% automatic rebate (rate updated 2026-10-24). Your exchange statement prevails.
Three gaps are common when you reconcile: Maker orders are charged 0.02%, not 0.05%; on days you used vouchers or trial funds, the covered part earns no rebate; and Binance pays rebates in USDC, so the small price difference between USDC and USDT makes the numbers slightly off. For terms such as rebate, net fee and self-rebate, see the referral rebate glossary.
Checked everything and still nothing? How to ask support
Contact the exchange’s official support directly with your UID, sign-up date and the referral code you used at sign-up. Bitfinex’s terms state that discrepancies in refunded amounts must be raised within 30 days, and at other exchanges it’s also best to ask early.
When you ask, include the specific trade dates and the fees on those trades so support can look them up more easily. Your UID is all you need to give. If anyone asks for your password, verification code or API key, don’t hand them over; common tactics are covered in how to spot rebate scams.
Bybit is different: this site has no exchange automatic rebate for Bybit, and the rebate channel is Fee Otter. This extra rebate is paid by Fee Otter, not by the exchange and not by Kevin Wu, so if nothing arrives, first confirm that your UID is bound on Fee Otter and has been approved, then ask Fee Otter’s support. You can see your bound affiliate code on Bybit’s account info page. Some affiliates don’t show their ID because of privacy settings, and Bybit says this doesn’t affect attribution (Bybit guide to adding and checking an affiliate code). Details are in Bybit fee rebate: Fee Otter.
Some exchanges allow adding or switching a referral code after sign-up. For the actual process, see the summary on Fee Otter, a fee rebate site.
FAQ
Can a referral rebate be delayed for a long time?
It depends on the exchange. Gate says rebates are refunded in real time after each trade, or within 1–2 hours in special cases; XT.COM pays the day after the trade (T+1); Ourbit pays the next morning; Binance converts every hour and credits your spot account within 6 hours. Where the exchange states no crediting time, go by your account records.
Which coin is the rebate paid in?
Ourbit and Bitfinex state that it’s paid in the same coin you paid the fee in; Pionex pays in USDT; Binance converts it to USDC. For exchanges that don’t say, go by your account records.
My referral code is bound but the rebate rate is 0%. Did it fail to bind?
No. 0% means you’re bound; the referrer just isn’t sharing any rebate with you. OKX states that 0% is still a bound status, and the exchange can’t change the rate or backdate payouts on the affiliate’s behalf. At Pionex, the rate is fixed when the referrer creates the code and can’t be changed later. Since the account already has a referrer, you can’t add a code; the only option is the switching rules.
If I add a referral code later, are earlier trades rebated retroactively?
No exchange states that it pays retroactively, so go by the rebate records in your account. OKX also states that it can’t backdate rebates. If you want to add a code, doing it before your first trade is safest; Binance’s add-later option itself requires that you haven’t deposited or traded yet.
My rebate disappeared after I reached VIP. Has the referral code expired?
Usually it hasn’t expired; you’ve gone past the level the exchange sets. Binance VIP 3 and above, OKX VIP7 and above, HTX Prime 9 and above and KuCoin LV3 and above generate no commission. Binance states that if the invitee drops back to VIP 2 or below, the referral commission resumes.
I only trade spot. Why is there no rebate at Ourbit?
Because Ourbit spot currently charges 0 fees, and no fee means no rebate. Since 2024-09-03, every Ourbit spot pair has been fee-free, while futures stay at Maker 0.02% and Taker 0.04%; rebates only come from futures and DEX trading.
Can I get a withheld rebate back?
It depends on the exchange and the circumstances. At WEEX, yellow-card rebates are returned 14 days after normal trading volume is made up, while red and black cards get nothing back; XT.COM only says the platform “may withhold” rebates and states no conditions for returning them. Other exchanges don’t say, so you’ll need to ask support.
I used a referral code on Bybit. Why don’t I see an exchange rebate?
Because this site has no exchange automatic rebate for Bybit; the rebate is claimed through Fee Otter. Bind your UID on Fee Otter and the rebate shows up in your Fee Otter account. It’s paid by Fee Otter, not by the exchange and not by Kevin Wu.
If you haven’t signed up yet, entering the referral code at sign-up saves the most trouble. You can compare every exchange’s referral code and automatic rebate rate on the exchange referral code overview; to see what each exchange actually charges once the rebate is deducted, see trading fees after the referral rebate. If you’ve already missed the add-later window, your options are in the guide to switching your referral code.
