Updated Rules checked 2026-10-22
The most common way to deposit on KuCoin is to have USDT ready on another exchange or in a wallet, then open KuCoin’s “Deposit” page, pick a network, copy the address and send the coins over. If you do not own any crypto yet, you can buy with fiat through one-click buy, P2P or a third-party provider. To withdraw, go to “Assets” → “Withdraw” and send USDT to your own wallet or to another exchange. If the recipient also uses KuCoin, an internal transfer by email, phone number or UID costs nothing and arrives instantly.
The mistakes most likely to cost you money are choosing the wrong network and leaving out the Memo. KuCoin’s official guide states that the deposit network must match the network used by the sending platform, or the funds may be lost and cannot be recovered. A missing Memo can be recovered on request, but it costs 40 USDT and KuCoin does not guarantee success. Also, new users who registered after 2023-08-31 must complete identity verification (KYC) before they can deposit.
Below are the deposit and withdrawal steps for the website and the app, the USDT minimums and fees on each network, and KuCoin’s official fixes when a withdrawal gets stuck. Every item links to an official KuCoin source.
Key points:
1. KuCoin’s official API on 2026-10-22: USDT withdrawals cost 1.99 USDT on TRC20 (minimum 4 USDT), 5.5 USDT on ERC20 (minimum 30 USDT) and 1 USDT on BEP20 (minimum 10 USDT). The cheapest is Plasma at 0.4 USDT (minimum 5 USDT).
2. Minimum USDT deposits: 1 USDT on TRC20 and ERC20, and 0.1 USDT on BEP20 and on the TON network that needs a Memo. Amounts below the minimum shown on the deposit page may not be credited.
3. Transfers to another KuCoin account by email, phone number or UID are free and instant, KuCoin states, and they do not create an on-chain TXID.
4. KuCoin states that it processes withdrawal requests within 30 minutes, and amounts above a certain size are handled manually. If the status stays at “Processing” for more than 3 hours, contact online customer support.
5. Withdrawals are suspended for 24 hours after any of these 7 actions: deleting a passkey, changing Google 2FA, changing the trading password, changing your phone number or email, unfreezing the account, or resetting the login password with “Forgot password”. The hold lifts automatically when the time is up.

How do you deposit on KuCoin? USDT deposit steps
Before you start, make sure your account has finished identity verification (steps in the KuCoin KYC guide), and check which network the sending side will use. Button names follow KuCoin’s official help center; if the interface changes, go by what you see on screen.
Deposit steps on the website
- Log in to KuCoin, click “Deposit”, then click “Deposit” in the sidebar to open the deposit page.
- Choose the coin you want to deposit (for example USDT), then choose the deposit network. It has to be the same network the sending platform uses.
- The page shows the QR code and deposit address for that network. Click the copy icon and paste the address into the address field on the sending platform. On networks that need a Memo, fill in the Memo as well.
- If needed, click a different account type to choose which account this deposit goes to.
Deposit steps in the app
- Log in to the KuCoin app, tap “Deposit”, choose “Crypto” and search for the coin (for example USDT).
- Choose a USDT network that matches the sending platform.
- Copy the deposit address, or tap “Save Image” or “Share Address” to take it to the sending platform. You can also choose the receiving account at this step.
- Track progress under “Deposit History”. You will also get the result by app push notification and email.
These steps follow KuCoin: How to deposit crypto to KuCoin (updated 2026-09-17). KuCoin gives no fixed crediting time and only says it depends on current blockchain traffic. Some assets are “credited early” once they reach a minimum number of confirmations, so you can trade them before the deposit is final. In the Lite version, deposits always go to the Funding Account; to change that, switch to the Pro version (KuCoin Lite deposit guide).
Which USDT network should you use? Minimum deposits and confirmations
First pick a network that the sending side supports and KuCoin has open for deposits, then choose the one with the lower fee. KuCoin specifically warns against picking a network only because it is the cheapest. On 2026-10-22 the official API listed 19 USDT networks; 18 of them accepted deposits, and only Optimism was paused.
| Network | Minimum deposit (USDT) | Block confirmations | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| TRC20 | 1 | 3 | — |
| ERC20 | 1 | 64 (credited early after 12 confirmations) | — |
| BEP20 | 0.1 | 60 (credited early after 15 confirmations) | — |
| TON (Memo required) | 0.1 | 1 | You must fill in the Memo |
| TON (API marks no Memo needed) | Not listed officially | 1 | Deposits only, no withdrawals |
| Solana | Not listed officially | 200 | — |
| Polygon POS | Not listed officially | 300 (credited early after 200 confirmations) | — |
| Arbitrum | Not listed officially | 1900 (credited early after 120 confirmations) | — |
| Aptos | Not listed officially | 1 | — |
| Plasma | Not listed officially | 20 | — |
| Optimism | — | 500 | Deposits and withdrawals paused on 2026-10-22 |
Source: USDT network data from KuCoin’s official API, queried 2026-10-22; field meanings follow the KuCoin API documentation. “Not listed officially” means the API’s minimum deposit field is empty; the actual threshold is shown on the deposit page. KuCoin’s guide names only a few coins that carry a deposit fee, such as BEP20-ETH and LUNC, and USDT is not one of them (for the term, see block confirmations).
What if you left out the Memo or chose the wrong network?
If the Memo is missing or wrong, the funds will not reach your account, but you can usually apply to recover them. Log in, go to the support center, choose “Crypto deposit not received”, and enter the coin, amount and transaction hash (TXID). KuCoin currently offers self-service recovery for more than 40 coins, such as ATOM, XRP and XLM. You pay the fee after the review is approved, the funds are returned within 5 business days of payment, and they are returned only to the original deposit address (KuCoin Memo recovery guide). For coins not on the list, submit a ticket with your UID, the TXID and a screenshot of the outgoing transfer record (KuCoin guide to deposits without a Memo).
The fee depends on the case. KuCoin’s incorrect deposit recovery fees (updated 2025-12-16) list 40 USDT for a missing or wrong Memo and 80 USDT for an unlisted token deposited on a supported network, with most cases estimated at 2 to 3 days. An unlisted token deposited on an unsupported EVM network takes 14 days and costs 200 to 500 USDT. When you use self-service recovery for an unsupported network, KuCoin reminds you to keep 80 USDT in the Funding Account to pay the fee (KuCoin self-service recovery guide). KuCoin states that success is not guaranteed, and it cannot help if you sent funds to an address that does not belong to KuCoin or entered someone else’s Memo. For a comparison of each exchange’s rules, see how to recover a deposit sent on the wrong network; terms such as network, Memo and transfer are explained in deposit and withdrawal terms explained.
Which account does a deposit go to? How do you move it to the Futures Account?
You can choose the receiving account on KuCoin’s deposit page. The deposit guide says you can deposit directly into the Funding Account, the Trading Account or a sub-account, and the deposit FAQ also lists the Margin Account and the Futures Account. The Funding Account handles deposits, withdrawals and P2P; the Trading Account handles spot trading (KuCoin’s Chinese account guide calls it the “coin-to-coin account”); and futures trading uses only the money in the Futures Account.
To move assets between accounts, use the transfer function on the “Assets Overview” page, or transfer directly from each account’s page (KuCoin accounts and transfers guide). To withdraw, the funds must be in the Funding Account or the Trading Account; anything held in the Futures Account or other accounts has to be moved back to the Funding Account first. Futures use leverage, so if the price moves against you, your position may be forcibly liquidated. For how it works, see the KuCoin futures guide.
No USDT yet? KuCoin’s fiat options for buying crypto
KuCoin officially lists the following ways to buy crypto with fiat, and all of them require identity verification first. Which fiat currencies and payment methods you can use depends on your region and the coin, so go by the order page.
- One-click buy: click “Buy Crypto” at the top left of the navigation bar, choose the fiat currency, coin and amount, pick one of the suggested payment methods, preview the order and click “Pay”. The page brings together bank cards, local payment methods, fiat balance, P2P and third-party services, and the coins you buy land in “Assets” → “Funding Account” (KuCoin one-click buy guide).
- P2P: the KuCoin P2P FAQ states that there are zero trading fees. When you place a buy order, the platform freezes the merchant’s coins; after you pay and click “I Have Paid”, the merchant releases the coins to your Funding Account. P2P quick orders buy USDT first and then automatically convert it into the coin you chose, and KuCoin says there is no extra charge for that. The cost is built into the ad price. For the process and the risks, see the P2P crypto buying guide.
- Third-party providers: go to “Buy Crypto” → “Third-Party”, choose the coin, amount and fiat currency. The available providers are Simplex, Banxa, BTC Direct, CoinTR, Treasura and Legend Trading. Read the disclaimer, click “Confirm”, and you are sent to the provider’s page to pay. Order problems have to be taken up with the provider directly, and KuCoin’s guide does not state their fee rates (KuCoin third-party purchase guide).
- Fiat balance: KuCoin’s fiat deposit and withdrawal fee table covers only euros (SEPA, 1 EUR per transaction for individuals) and Brazilian reais (Pix deposits free, withdrawals 2.6 BRL). Buying or selling crypto with your fiat balance costs 0.1%.
Card purchases also carry the issuing bank’s foreign transaction fee; for how it is calculated, see credit card crypto purchase fees.
How do you withdraw from KuCoin? Withdrawal steps
Before you can withdraw, set up one of two security combinations on the account security page: “phone number + trading password” or “email + Google 2FA + trading password”.
Withdrawal steps on the website
- After logging in, hover over the wallet icon, click “Assets”, then click “Withdraw”.
- Choose the coin (for example USDT) and paste the receiving address; the system matches the network automatically. Check once more that this network is the same one the receiving platform uses.
- Click “Available balance” to choose which account the funds come from, then enter the amount. The page shows the network fee and the amount that will actually arrive.
- Review everything, click “Submit” and complete the security verification.
Withdrawal steps in the app
- Go to “Assets” → “Overview” → “Withdraw”, choose “Withdraw Crypto” and then choose the coin.
- Paste the address. If the system recognizes the address’s network, it jumps straight to the page where you enter the amount; if not, it stays on the same page so you can choose the network yourself.
- Enter the amount, tap “Available” to choose the account the funds come from, tap “Continue”, review the confirmation page and tap “Confirm”.
- Complete the security verification and wait for processing. You can find the record in the history on the Assets page.
These steps follow KuCoin: How to withdraw and transfer between internal accounts (updated 2026-09-17). KuCoin warns that if you enter the wrong details or choose the wrong network, the assets may be lost and cannot be recovered, and a withdrawal cannot be canceled once KuCoin has processed it successfully.
What are KuCoin’s USDT withdrawal fees and minimums?
| Network | Withdrawal fee (USDT) | Minimum withdrawal (USDT) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| TRC20 | 1.99 | 4 | — |
| ERC20 | 5.5 | 30 | The API also lists a 0.2% fee-rate field and a 36 USDT cap field; how they apply is not officially stated |
| BEP20 | 1 | 10 | — |
| Solana | 1.5 | 3 | — |
| TON (Memo required) | 0.5 | 1 | Fill in the Memo if the recipient has one |
| Polygon POS | 0.8 | 1.6 | — |
| Arbitrum | 1 | 5 | — |
| AVAX C-Chain | 1 | 2 | — |
| Aptos | 0.5 | 1 | — |
| Plasma | 0.4 | 5 | Cheapest in the table |
| Optimism | 1 | 3 | Withdrawals paused on 2026-10-22 |
Source: USDT network data from KuCoin’s official API, queried 2026-10-22. KuCoin’s help center has no public fee table; it only says that different tokens carry different withdrawal fees and that you can check them on the withdrawal page after logging in. Fees change, so go by what the withdrawal page shows before you submit.
Among the 13 exchanges this site compared on 2026-10-12, KuCoin had the highest TRC20 and ERC20 withdrawal fees, and the gap shows most on small withdrawals. Take a 100 USDT withdrawal: on TRC20 you pay 1.99 USDT, or 1.99%; on ERC20 you pay 5.5 USDT, or 5.5%; on Plasma you pay 0.4 USDT, just 0.4%. At 10 transfers a month, TRC20 comes to 19.9 USDT in total and Plasma to 4 USDT. ERC20 has a 30 USDT minimum, so with the fee you need at least 35.5 USDT. KuCoin does not explain how that fee-rate field is calculated, so check the amount on the withdrawal page before sending a large sum over ERC20. A cheap network only helps if the recipient supports it too, and not every exchange accepts Plasma or Aptos. For a comparison across exchanges, see USDT withdrawal fees compared.
On withdrawal limits, KuCoin’s page on identity verification only says the 24-hour withdrawal limit is the one shown on the withdrawal page. The KYC guide on KuCoin’s official blog (2025-12-26) says verified users can withdraw up to 999,999 USDT per day (KuCoin blog). Where the two differ, go by the withdrawal page in your own account. For a comparison across exchanges, see exchange withdrawal limits compared.
How do you set up the Address Book and whitelist?
You can save the receiving addresses you use often in the Address Book: on the withdrawal page, click “Address Book” → “Add Address” and complete the security verification the system asks for. KuCoin’s account security article (updated 2026-09-24) says the Address Book can restrict which wallet addresses you can withdraw to, and withdrawals to whitelisted addresses need only the trading password (KuCoin account security guide).
Because the trading password alone is enough to withdraw, the whitelist cannot stop anything once that password leaks. So I recommend whitelisting only your own wallets, or your own deposit addresses on other exchanges. For a comparison of each exchange’s security settings, see exchange account security settings; for the term, see withdrawal whitelist.
Is there a fee to send crypto to another KuCoin user?
No. On the website, choose the coin on the withdrawal page and enter the recipient’s email, phone number or UID; that makes it an internal transfer. If the receiving address you paste belongs to KuCoin, the system ticks “Internal Transfer” by default; untick it if you want to send on-chain. In the app, go to “Assets” → “Overview” → “Withdraw” → “Withdraw Crypto”, choose the coin, tap “Internal”, enter the recipient’s phone number, email or UID, tap “Continue” and complete the verification.
KuCoin states that internal transfers are free and instant and do not create an on-chain TXID (KuCoin withdrawal and internal transfer guide). The recipient sees the transfer marked as “Internal Transfer”. Sending the same amount on TRC20 costs 1.99 USDT, so between two KuCoin accounts an internal transfer is the cheapest option. Since there is no TXID to look up, check the recipient’s account character by character before you send. For who you can and cannot give your UID to, see what an exchange UID is.
What if a KuCoin withdrawal is stuck or fails?
Here are the withdrawal statuses and suspension reasons mentioned in KuCoin’s official guides. Most are security measures that lift once the time is up or you supply the missing information.
| Situation | What KuCoin says | What to do | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Status “Pending” | KuCoin usually processes it within 30 minutes; amounts above a certain size are handled manually and take longer | Wait about 30 minutes and check again; if you notice a wrong address, you can click “Cancel” while it has this status | Withdrawal not received guide |
| Status “Processing” | May take 2 to 3 hours | If it is still processing after 3 hours, contact online customer support with your UID, the coin, the amount and the receiving address; if the address is wrong, contact them as soon as possible and support will confirm whether it can be canceled | Withdrawal not received guide |
| Status “Successful” but nothing received | Already recorded on the blockchain and cannot be canceled | Look up the TXID on a block explorer; if it has enough confirmations, contact the receiving platform; if the explorer shows no such transaction, contact KuCoin | Withdrawal not received guide |
| Security settings changed | Withdrawals are suspended for 24 hours after deleting a passkey, changing or resetting Google 2FA, changing the trading password, changing your phone number, unfreezing the account, changing your email, or resetting the login password with “Forget password?” | The withdrawal page shows the remaining time; the hold lifts automatically after 24 hours | Withdrawal restrictions guide |
| “User is prohibited” shown | Withdrawals on the account have been suspended for some reason | Submit a ticket or ask online customer support (24/7) for the reason | Withdrawal restrictions guide |
| Still cannot withdraw after the hold ends | Funds must be in the Funding Account, and there must be no open orders in spot, margin, futures or lending | Cancel open orders, move the assets back to the Funding Account and try again | Withdrawal restrictions guide |
| Risk controls triggered | Suspected money laundering, illegal fund inflows, transfers from high-risk platforms, multi-account activity and similar may lead to suspension of C2C, crypto withdrawals and fiat transactions | Provide documents as the notice asks, for example additional KYC or proof of source of funds | Fiat trading rules |
| Network maintenance | Coins or networks undergo regular maintenance and upgrades, during which deposits and withdrawals are paused | You can only wait for it to resume; on 2026-10-22 USDT deposits and withdrawals were paused on the Optimism network, while common networks such as TRC20, ERC20 and BEP20 were working normally | Official API |
Sources are linked in the table and were checked on 2026-10-22. The help center does not state how long you have to wait before withdrawing coins bought through P2P. If a deposit has not arrived and there is no TXID, the outgoing transfer may not have gone through, so contact the sending platform. If it has enough confirmations but still has not been credited, check again after 2 to 3 hours; after more than 3 hours, contact online customer support with the receiving address, TXID, coin and amount.
For more complicated cases, such as an account restricted by risk controls or a request for extra documents, see what to do if your exchange account is frozen. None of the official fixes above asks you to pay an “unfreezing fee”, a “deposit” or “taxes” first. Treat anyone who says you must send money before you can withdraw as a scammer; common tactics are covered in fake exchange withdrawal scams. If someone claims to be KuCoin support, check them first on the KuCoin official verification center; in Taiwan, you can also call the 165 anti-fraud hotline to check.
FAQ
Does KuCoin charge a deposit fee?
USDT deposits to KuCoin are not among the coins KuCoin lists as carrying a fee; what you pay is the sending side’s withdrawal fee. KuCoin names only a few coins with a deposit fee, such as BEP20-ETH and LUNC. In the official API on 2026-10-22, the minimum USDT deposit was 1 USDT each on TRC20 and ERC20, and 0.1 USDT each on BEP20 and TON.
Which network is cheapest for withdrawing USDT from KuCoin?
Of the USDT networks checked on 2026-10-22, Plasma is the cheapest at 0.4 USDT per withdrawal, but the minimum withdrawal is 5 USDT. Aptos and TON cost 0.5 USDT each. TRC20 costs 1.99 USDT, and ERC20 is the most expensive at 5.5 USDT with a 30 USDT minimum. Before choosing, make sure the recipient supports that network.
How long does a KuCoin withdrawal take?
KuCoin states that it processes withdrawal requests within 30 minutes; after that, the time depends on the blockchain. Amounts above a certain size are handled manually, and “Processing” may take 2 to 3 hours. Only after more than 3 hours should you contact online customer support.
Can you withdraw from KuCoin without KYC?
New accounts registered from 2023-08-31 onward must complete KYC before they can use KuCoin’s products and services. For older accounts registered before that date and not yet verified, KuCoin states that withdrawals are not affected, but they can no longer deposit. P2P, third-party purchases and fiat withdrawals all require a verified account.
Why can’t you withdraw from KuCoin after changing your password?
KuCoin suspends withdrawals for 24 hours after 7 kinds of security changes: resetting the login password with “Forgot password”, changing the trading password, changing Google 2FA, your phone number or your email, deleting a passkey, and unfreezing the account. The withdrawal page shows the remaining time, and the hold lifts automatically after 24 hours.
What if you forgot the Memo on a KuCoin deposit?
Apply through “Crypto deposit not received” in the KuCoin support center and enter the TXID and amount. Once the review is approved, you pay 40 USDT, and the funds are returned to the original deposit address within 5 business days. Coins not on the self-service list are handled by submitting a ticket.
Is there a fee to send crypto to a friend on KuCoin?
If your friend also uses KuCoin, an internal transfer to their email, phone number or UID is free and instant, KuCoin states. An on-chain withdrawal on TRC20 costs 1.99 USDT each time. Internal transfers have no on-chain TXID, so confirm the recipient’s account before you send.
Can you withdraw directly from the KuCoin Futures Account?
No. You have to move the funds back to the Funding Account first. KuCoin states that you can withdraw directly from the Funding Account or the Trading Account; assets in the Futures Account must first be moved out with the transfer function on “Assets Overview”. If the transfer will not go through, check that you have no open orders.
If you do not have a KuCoin account yet, sign-up steps and the referral code are in KuCoin referral code. Identity verification steps are in the KuCoin KYC guide, trading fees and VIP levels in KuCoin fees, and reserves and security record in the KuCoin review. The security settings worth setting up before you withdraw are in exchange account security settings. For other exchanges’ deposit and withdrawal steps, see the Binance deposit and withdrawal guide, the OKX deposit and withdrawal guide and the Gate deposit and withdrawal guide.
