Updated Rules checked 2026-10-11
For regular XT.COM users (VIP 0), spot fees are 0.2% for both Maker and Taker, and USDT-M perpetual futures fees are Maker 0.02% and Taker 0.06%. Turning on XT deduction for spot gives you 25% off, which brings spot down to 0.15%. The official fee table lists this discount only for spot, not for futures.
KEVINWUFor accounts registered with the referral code KEVINWU, XT returns Futures 60%, Spot 35% of your fees to your spot account the day after you trade, so your real cost ends up a little below the fee table.
This guide puts spot, futures, VIP thresholds, XT deduction, funding rates and withdrawal fees in one place, cites the official source for every number, and works through the math.
The fees below were checked against XT’s official pages on 2026-10-11 and are provided for reference.
Key points:
1. For regular XT.COM users (VIP 0), spot fees are 0.2% for both Maker and Taker, and USDT-M perpetual futures are Maker 0.02% and Taker 0.06% (checked against the official fee page on 2026-10-11).
2. Turning on XT deduction for spot takes 25% off, bringing it to 0.15%; the official futures fee table doesn’t list this discount.
3. Since 2026-09-22, USDT/USDC spot pairs have been 0% for both Maker and Taker; these trades have no fee and therefore no rebate.
4. 200,000 USDT of futures volume in 30 days gets you to VIP 1, and the futures Taker rate drops from 0.06% to 0.054%.
5. Checked on 2026-10-12, withdrawing USDT from XT costs 0.01 USDT on Aptos, 1 USDT on TRC20 and 4 USDT on ERC20, with a minimum withdrawal of 10 USDT on every network.
What are XT’s spot and futures fees?
| Market | Maker | Taker | With platform token deduction | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Spot | 0.2% | 0.2% | 0.15% / 0.15% | 25% off with XT deduction on; zero fees on the USDT/USDC pair |
| USDT-M perpetual futures | 0.02% | 0.06% | Not applicable | Charged on position value and collected in USDT; funding rates apply on top |
| Coin-M perpetual futures | 0.02% | 0.06% | Not applicable | XT’s official futures rates don’t list coin-M separately; fees are collected in that coin |
The spot and futures rates come from the “site-wide tiers and rates” table on XT’s fee schedule page and match XT’s VIP fee tier announcement. For futures, see also XT’s futures fee rate guide (updated 2026-10-10). On XT spot, Maker and Taker cost the same at every level from VIP 0 to Premium VIP.
What’s the difference between Maker and Taker on XT?
According to XT’s guide to maker orders and fees: if your buy price is below the best ask, or your sell price is above the best bid, the order doesn’t fill right away. It goes onto the order book and waits for someone to fill it, which makes it a Maker order. If your buy price is at or above the best ask, or your sell price is at or below the best bid, the order fills immediately, which makes it a Taker order. Market orders are always Taker.
Take the BTC/USDT perpetual as an example. BTC is at 100,000 USDT. If you place a limit buy at 99,500 USDT and it fills only after the price dips, you pay Maker 0.02%; if you buy at market, you pay Taker 0.06%. On the same 10,000 USDT fill, Maker costs 2 USDT and Taker costs 6 USDT, three times as much. Spot is different: XT charges the same for spot Maker and Taker, 0.2% at VIP 0, so placing a maker order on spot saves you nothing in fees. It only helps you control your fill price. For the gap between Maker and Taker rates across 13 exchanges, see Maker vs Taker fees.
How much are XT spot fees?
| Item | VIP 0 | XT deduction on |
|---|---|---|
| Maker / Taker | 0.2% / 0.2% | 0.15% / 0.15% |
| Buying 1,000 USDT of BTC | 2 USDT | 1.5 USDT worth of XT |
| 100,000 USDT traded per month | 200 USDT | 150 USDT |
| USDT/USDC pair | 0% / 0% | 0% / 0% |
XT’s guide to maker orders and fees says that every filled spot trade, maker or taker, is charged two parts per thousand, or 0.2%. The formula is trade amount × fee rate: buying 1,000 USDT of BTC costs 2 USDT, and buying 5,000 USDT costs 10 USDT. That isn’t a low rate. Many large exchanges charge 0.1% for spot at VIP 0, so if you trade spot on XT, XT deduction and rebates make a more noticeable difference to your costs.
How the fee is deducted: XT’s help pages don’t say whether a spot buy is charged in USDT or in the coin you buy. You can check each trade’s fee in your trade history.
Zero-fee pair: since 2026-09-22, XT has charged Maker 0% and Taker 0% on the USDT/USDC spot pair. XT’s USDT/USDC zero-fee announcement states that this is a long-term benefit, not tied to the end date of the reward campaign running alongside it, and that any future changes will be announced separately. If you want to switch between USDT and USDC, this pair costs nothing in fees. However, XT calculates rebates on the trading fees actually generated, and zero-fee trades generate no fee to rebate, so they earn no rebate.
Watch out for spot deduction vouchers too. Spot deduction vouchers earned from campaigns can usually cover 30% of a fee, and XT’s spot deduction voucher rules state that the portion they cover no longer counts toward referral rebates or affiliate rebates.
How are XT futures fees calculated? Are you charged on both opening and closing?
| Item | Maker | Taker |
|---|---|---|
| VIP 0 rate (same for opening and closing) | 0.02% | 0.06% |
| Opening 10,000 USDT | 2 USDT | 6 USDT |
| Opening + closing 10,000 USDT | 4 USDT | 12 USDT |
XT’s futures fee rate guide states that futures fees are charged once an order fills, on both opening and closing. The formula is “fee = contracts filled × contract face value × average fill price × fee rate”, and the first three terms multiplied together are the position value. The fee is collected in the asset the pair is settled in, so USDT-M futures charge USDT. For how notional value is calculated, with worked examples for 13 exchanges, see how futures fees are calculated.
Fees are charged on position value, not on margin. With 1,000 USDT of margin at 10x, the position value is 1,000 × 10 = 10,000 USDT. Opening as a Taker costs 10,000 × 0.06% = 6 USDT, and closing costs another 6 USDT, so a round trip is 12 USDT, or 1.2% of your margin. If you open and close as a Maker, it’s 10,000 × 0.02% × 2 = 4 USDT.
With the same 1,000 USDT of margin at 20x, the position value is 20,000 USDT, and a Taker round trip costs 24 USDT, or 2.4% of your margin, paid before the price has even moved. The higher your leverage and the more often you trade in and out, the bigger the share of your capital that goes to fees. If the price moves against you, a leveraged position can also be liquidated and you can lose your entire margin. Before opening a position, you can estimate the liquidation price with the liquidation price calculator and add up fees and funding together with the perpetual futures cost calculator.
Coin-M futures use the underlying coin as margin and calculate profit and loss in that coin too (XT’s coin-M futures guide). Neither XT’s futures fee table nor its futures fee guide lists USDT-M and coin-M separately, so this guide uses the same fee table for both; if coin-M has different rates, the order page is what counts. As with spot, the portion covered by futures deduction vouchers doesn’t count toward rebates (XT’s futures deduction voucher rules).
How do XT VIP tiers work?
| Tier | 30-day average assets (USDT) | 30-day spot volume | 30-day futures volume | Spot Maker / Taker | Spot with XT deduction | Futures Maker / Taker |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| VIP 0 | — | — | — | 0.2% | 0.15% | 0.02% / 0.06% |
| VIP 1 | 30,000 | 20,000 | 200,000 | 0.16% | 0.12% | 0.018% / 0.054% |
| VIP 2 | 50,000 | 100,000 | 1,000,000 | 0.15% | 0.1125% | 0.015% / 0.046% |
| VIP 3 | 100,000 | 250,000 | 8,000,000 | 0.12% | 0.09% | 0.013% / 0.041% |
| VIP 4 | 200,000 | 500,000 | 15,000,000 | 0.1% | 0.075% | 0.012% / 0.037% |
| VIP 5 | 500,000 | 1,000,000 | 35,000,000 | 0.07% | 0.0525% | 0.01% / 0.035% |
| VIP 6 | 1,000,000 | 5,000,000 | 85,000,000 | 0.06% | 0.045% | 0.008% / 0.033% |
| VIP 7 | 2,000,000 | 10,000,000 | 150,000,000 | 0.04% | 0.03% | 0.006% / 0.03% |
| Premium VIP | 5,000,000 | 30,000,000 | 300,000,000 | 0.02% | 0.015% | 0.004% / 0.028% |
Thresholds and rates are from XT’s fee schedule page (checked 2026-10-11). Meeting any one of the three conditions is enough to move up a tier, and since spot Maker and Taker cost the same, the table shows a single number for spot. XT’s VIP fee tier announcement (effective 2026-03-05) has mostly the same numbers. Only the Premium VIP volume thresholds differ: the announcement says 15 million USDT for spot and 215 million USDT for futures, while the fee page now shows 30 million and 300 million. This guide follows the fee page.
- How often it updates: every day at 11:00 (Taiwan time), XT updates your VIP tier and fee rates based on your account’s assets or trading volume, and charges you at the new tier from then on.
- How volume is counted: XT adds up daily volume snapshots taken at 00:00 (Taiwan time) over the last 30 days. Spot and futures volume are counted separately, each against its own threshold.
- How assets are counted: if your account is at least 30 days old, 30-day average assets = the sum of your daily assets over the last 30 days ÷ 30; if it’s newer, the sum is divided by the number of days since you registered. Unrealized profit and loss doesn’t count as assets.
- Holding XT gives you a multiplier: when average assets are calculated, the value of the XT platform token is multiplied by a coefficient: 1.4x for VIP 0 to VIP 2, 1.6x for VIP 3 and 4, 1.8x for VIP 5 and 6, and 2x for VIP 7 and above. The example in the announcement uses 2x for a VIP 0 user, which doesn’t match the 1.4x in the table, so the system’s own calculation is what counts.
- Main and sub-accounts are combined: trading volume and daily assets are combined to determine your tier, and all accounts use the same rate.
- Protection period: the first time you reach VIP 1 or above, you automatically get a 30-day protection period, during which you won’t be downgraded even if your assets or volume drop.
XT’s VIP 1 futures threshold is fairly low: 200,000 USDT of futures volume in 30 days gets you to VIP 1, which lowers futures Taker from 0.06% to 0.054% and Maker from 0.02% to 0.018%, and also drops spot to 0.16%. If you trade 300,000 USDT of futures a month, you’ll land in VIP 1 without trying to push your volume. Beyond that, VIP 2 takes 1 million and VIP 3 jumps to 8 million, so most retail traders who rely on volume will probably stay at VIP 1 or VIP 2.
Qualifying through assets is harder. VIP 1 needs 30-day average assets of 30,000 USDT. If it’s all in XT, the 1.4x multiplier means you only need about 21,429 USDT worth of XT; at XT’s price of about 5.13 USDT on 2026-10-12, that’s roughly 4,180 XT. XT’s price changes every day, and holding XT means taking on its price swings, so if you don’t have spare funds, there’s no need to buy the token just for VIP 1.
VIP and rebates: XT’s referral guide doesn’t say that rebates stop once you reach a certain VIP tier, and it doesn’t say how rebates are calculated for VIP users either. For how exchanges compare on this, see does your referral rebate survive a VIP upgrade.
How much can you save by paying fees with the XT platform token?
- How big the discount is: 25% off spot fees, which takes VIP 0 from 0.2% to 0.15%. The fee page lists the spot rate after the “XT 25% discount” for every VIP tier, for example 0.12% for VIP 1 and 0.0525% for VIP 5 (XT’s fee schedule page).
- Where it applies: the official fee table lists the XT discount only for spot. The futures fee table has no such column, and XT doesn’t state whether XT can be used to pay futures fees.
- How to turn it on: after logging in, open the fee schedule page; at the top there’s an “XT fee deduction -25%” toggle. If you switch it off, the system warns that “you will no longer get the fee discount once it’s off”. XT’s help pages don’t say which account the XT needs to be in, or what happens if your balance runs short.
How much XT deduction saves: with 100,000 USDT of spot trades a month, fees drop from 200 USDT to 150 USDT, a saving of 50 USDT a month. Because XT’s base spot rate is high, the same 25% discount saves a bigger absolute amount. If you mostly trade futures, it won’t help. Before buying XT just to use the discount, work out whether the fees you save are enough to make up for XT’s price swings. If you already hold XT, besides turning on the deduction, your XT also counts at 1.4x or more when your VIP assets are calculated.
How are rebates calculated after XT deduction? XT calculates rebates on the trading fees actually generated, but it doesn’t state whether fees paid in XT count, or whether the rebate is based on the amount before or after the discount. The only thing XT states is that the portion covered by deduction vouchers (coupons) doesn’t count toward rebates, and deduction vouchers are a separate thing from paying with the XT platform token.
Do XT funding rates count as trading fees?
According to XT’s funding fee guide, the funding fee is the mechanism that keeps perpetual futures prices close to spot prices, and longs and shorts pay it to each other. When the rate is positive, longs pay shorts; when it’s negative, shorts pay longs. The formula is “funding fee = position value × funding rate”, with position value calculated at the mark price. For settlement intervals and rate caps across 13 exchanges, see what the funding rate is.
- Settlement times: every 8 hours, at 00:00, 08:00 and 16:00 (UTC), which is 08:00, 16:00 and 24:00 Taiwan time. Only positions still open at the moment of settlement pay or receive funding; if you close before settlement, you don’t.
- Intervals may change: XT adjusts the settlement interval for individual contracts, for example STRCUSDT going from every 1 hour back to every 8 hours, and the announcement also warns that rate caps and floors and intervals may be adjusted again in extreme markets. Check the contract’s current interval before you place an order.
- Where to check: there’s a “Funding rate” field at the top of the futures market view, and historical rates are on XT’s funding rate page.
Here’s an example: a 10,000 USDT long at a funding rate of +0.01% pays 10,000 × 0.01% = 1 USDT per period, or 3 USDT a day across 3 periods. Hold it for 4 days and that adds up to 12 USDT, as much as a Taker round trip of 12 USDT. Funding fees aren’t trading fees and don’t earn rebates, and the longer you hold a position, the bigger their share of your total cost.
Does XT charge for deposits, withdrawals, internal transfers and buying crypto?
- Deposits: the “deposit and withdrawal fees” tab on XT’s fee schedule page lists crypto deposit fees as 0. What you pay is the withdrawal fee charged by the sending side.
- Withdrawals: these vary by coin and network, and the full list is on the same tab. Checked on 2026-10-12: USDT costs 0.01 USDT on Aptos, 0.02 USDT on Polygon, 0.5 USDT on BEP20, 1 USDT on TRC20, 1 USDT each on Solana and TON, 2 USDT on Arbitrum One and 4 USDT on ERC20, with a 10 USDT minimum withdrawal on every network; BTC on the mainnet costs 0.0001 BTC. XT’s withdrawal fees are calculated dynamically and adjust with coin prices (XT’s announcement on dynamic withdrawal fees), so the amount shown on the withdrawal page is what counts.
- Internal transfers: sending to another XT user by ID, email or phone number is free and arrives instantly (XT’s internal transfer guide).
- Quick Buy and third-party payments: the button in XT’s Quick Buy guide says “buy with 0 fees”, and payment is completed on a partner payment platform. XT’s help page doesn’t say whether the third-party payment platform charges anything extra or how the exchange rate is set, so compare the quote with the spot order book before you buy.
- P2P (C2C): prices are set by users, not by XT, and you need to complete identity verification (KYC) before trading (XT’s introduction to C2C trading). That guide doesn’t say whether the platform charges a fee.
For a single USDT withdrawal, ERC20 costs nearly 4 USDT more than Polygon. XT’s withdrawal guide specifically warns against simply picking the network with the lowest fee: choose a network the receiving side also supports, because if you pick the wrong network, your funds may not be recoverable. In the 2026-10-12 data, XT’s USDT fee on ERC20 (4 USDT) is higher than on TRC20 (1 USDT), the opposite of most exchanges; for fees and minimum withdrawals by network on 13 exchanges, see USDT withdrawal fees compared.
How do I check my own XT fee tier?
- Website: after logging in, open XT’s fee schedule page (“Fee schedule” at the very bottom of the site). The top shows your current tier, your current rates and the next tier, along with the XT deduction toggle. The “VIP page” mentioned in the VIP tier announcement also links to this page.
- What you were actually charged: you can check each trade’s fee in your trade history; details of futures deduction voucher usage are in your order history.
- Rebate payouts: Spot account → Funding records → Distribution.
- App: XT’s help pages don’t say where in the app to find your fee tier.
What do you actually pay on XT after a referral rebate?
XT calculates rebates on the effective fees the invitee actually pays. XT’s referral rebate introduction says a proportional rebate is paid on every real trading fee generated, and the portion covered by deduction vouchers doesn’t count. According to XT’s referral rebate guide, rebates are credited to your spot account the day after you trade (T+1), and you can find them under “Spot account → Funding records → Distribution”; the Futures/Spot Cashback entries there are the fees the invitee saved. In these cases you get no rebate, or it may be deducted:
- Fees covered by spot or futures deduction vouchers (XT’s deduction voucher rules).
- Certain coins excluded by announcement. The list is attached to XT’s announcement on the rebate policy for certain coins and is updated from time to time.
- Trades opened and closed within 60 seconds have their rebate cancelled, and more than 8 such orders in a day may trigger risk controls. If trades opened and closed within 3 minutes make up more than 60% of your volume, or trades within 5 minutes make up more than 75%, the platform can deduct your rebates (XT’s partner risk control rules).
- Zero-fee trades, such as the USDT/USDC spot pair.
Enter the referral code when you sign up. XT’s referral guide notes that if you first downloaded the app through an ad or another referral channel and then registered in that app, the referral may be bound to the original channel. No official process for adding or changing a code after registration could be found either; if you’ve already signed up, see how to rebind your XT referral code.

Estimate: spot (0.2%)
| Monthly volume | Fees (0.2%) | Auto rebate (35%) | Net fees |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10,000 USDT | 20 USDT | 7 USDT | 13 USDT |
| 100,000 USDT | 200 USDT | 70 USDT | 130 USDT |
| 1,000,000 USDT | 2,000 USDT | 700 USDT | 1,300 USDT |
Example at a spot fee rate of 0.2% and the current 35% automatic rebate (rate updated 2026-10-24). Your exchange statement prevails.
Take a trader with 300,000 USDT of futures volume a month. At VIP 0, trading entirely as a Taker costs 300,000 × 0.06% = 180 USDT in fees; entirely as a Maker, it’s 300,000 × 0.02% = 60 USDT. That volume is already past the 200,000 VIP 1 threshold, and after the upgrade, Taker costs 300,000 × 0.054% = 162 USDT. The futures estimate above includes a 300,000 USDT row, so you can see directly what you pay after the rebate. Since the rebate returns a percentage of your fees, switching from Taker to Maker first and then collecting the rebate compounds the two savings.

What are the ways to save on XT fees?
These are ranked by how much a typical retail trader (mostly futures, 300,000 USDT of volume a month, some spot now and then) can save:
- Use maker orders on futures as much as you can: switching from Taker 0.06% to Maker 0.02% cuts fees on 300,000 USDT a month from 180 USDT to 60 USDT, a saving of 120 USDT, the most of any method here. The trade-off is that maker orders don’t always fill, and when you need to get in or out fast, you’ll still have to take. Spot Maker and Taker cost the same, so this only works for futures.
- Turn on XT deduction for spot: spot fees are 25% off, which saves 50 USDT on 100,000 USDT of spot a month. XT’s base spot rate of 0.2% is on the high side, so spot traders will feel this one most; the discount isn’t listed for futures.
- Sign up with a referral code that comes with a rebate: the rebate returns a percentage of the fees you actually pay, so the more you trade, the more you get back, and you don’t have to change how you trade. It can only be bound at sign-up; see the estimates above for amounts.
- Reach VIP 1: 200,000 USDT of futures volume or 20,000 USDT of spot volume in 30 days gets you VIP 1. Futures Taker drops to 0.054%, which saves 18 USDT on 300,000 USDT a month traded entirely as a Taker, and spot drops from 0.2% to 0.16%. Your first upgrade also comes with a 30-day protection period. The thresholds above that climb quickly, so trading more just to reach a tier isn’t recommended.
- Pick the right withdrawal network and use the zero-fee pair: withdrawing USDT costs 4 USDT on ERC20, 0.5 USDT on BEP20 and 0.02 USDT on Polygon (checked 2026-10-12), as long as the receiving side supports the network. Internal transfers to other XT users are free, and to swap USDT for USDC, use the zero-fee USDT/USDC pair.
FAQ
What are XT’s fees?
For regular XT.COM users (VIP 0), spot fees are 0.2% each for Maker and Taker, and USDT-M perpetual futures fees are Maker 0.02% and Taker 0.06%. Turning on XT deduction lowers spot to 0.15%. Higher VIP tiers pay lower rates; at the top tier, Premium VIP, spot is 0.02% and futures are 0.004% / 0.028%.
How does XT deduct fees?
Futures fees are charged after each fill, once when you open and once when you close, and USDT-M futures charge USDT. Spot charges 0.2% on every fill, or 25% less with XT deduction on. XT doesn’t state whether a buy is charged in USDT or in the coin you buy; you can check in your trade history.
Where can I see my XT fees?
After logging in, open XT’s fee schedule page (“Fee Schedule” at the very bottom of the website). The top of the page shows your current tier, your current rates and the next tier, and the XT deduction toggle is there too. Your fill details show how much was actually charged on each trade; the official help page doesn’t say where this menu is in the app.
How are XT futures fees calculated?
Futures fee = position value × fee rate. It doesn’t depend on your leverage, and it isn’t based on margin. With 1,000 USDT of margin at 10x, the position value is 10,000 USDT: 6 USDT to open as a Taker and 6 USDT to close, 12 USDT in total. If you hold a position past a funding settlement time, funding fees come on top of that.
How much does it cost to withdraw from XT?
XT’s withdrawal fees depend on the coin and network and adjust dynamically with coin prices; deposits are free. When checked on 2026-10-12, USDT cost 0.5 USDT on BEP20, 1 USDT on TRC20 and 4 USDT on ERC20, with a 10 USDT minimum withdrawal; BTC on the mainnet cost 0.0001 BTC. The full list is on the “deposit and withdrawal fees” tab of XT’s fee schedule page, and transfers to other XT users are free.
How much does XT charge to withdraw USDT?
Checked on 2026-10-12, withdrawing USDT from XT costs 0.01 USDT on Aptos, 0.02 USDT on Polygon, 0.5 USDT on BEP20, 1 USDT on TRC20 and 4 USDT on ERC20, with a minimum withdrawal of 10 USDT on every network. XT’s withdrawal fees adjust dynamically with coin prices, so go by what the page shows before you withdraw; for a comparison of 13 exchanges, see USDT withdrawal fees compared.
Is paying fees with XT worth it?
For spot, yes: spot fees are 25% off, 0.2% becomes 0.15%, and 100,000 USDT of spot a month saves 50 USDT. The official fee table doesn’t list an XT discount for futures, so it won’t do much if you mostly trade futures, and holding XT also means taking on its price swings.
Can I use a referral rebate and XT deduction together?
XT doesn’t say the two can’t be combined. But it doesn’t state how rebates are calculated on fees paid in XT, or whether they’re based on the amount before or after the discount; it only states that the portion covered by deduction vouchers (coupons) doesn’t count toward rebates. You can check what actually arrives under “Spot account → Funding records → Distribution”.
