How to Deposit and Withdraw on Gate: USDT Networks, Fees, Speed (2026)

Updated Rules checked 2026-10-22

The most common way to deposit on Gate (formerly Gate.io) is to have USDT ready on another exchange or in a wallet, then go to Gate’s “Deposit” → “On-Chain Deposit”, copy the address and send the funds in. If you don’t hold any crypto yet, you can buy some through Gate’s C2C (P2P) market or with a card. To withdraw, go to “Assets” → “Withdraw” and choose “On-Chain Withdrawal” to send funds to your own wallet or another exchange; between Gate accounts you can transfer by UID with no fee.

The mistakes most likely to cost you money are choosing the wrong network and leaving out the Memo. Gate’s official tutorial states that the deposit network must exactly match the network selected on the sending platform, and that choosing the wrong one may cause the assets to be lost and unrecoverable. USDT sent over the TON network also needs a Memo. Also note that Gate requires every user to complete identity verification (KYC) before they can deposit or withdraw.

Below I have put together the deposit and withdrawal steps for the website and the app, the USDT withdrawal fee on each network, and Gate’s official handling when a withdrawal gets stuck, each with an official Gate source.

Key points:
1. Gate charges no fee for crypto deposits, and its official fee data lists a minimum USDT deposit of 0.01 USDT. Anything below the “Minimum Deposit” shown on the deposit page will not be credited and may not be recoverable.
2. Official data on 2026-10-22: USDT withdrawals cost 1.5 USDT on TRC20 (minimum withdrawal 10 USDT), 1 USDT on ERC20, 0.5 USDT each on BEP20 and Solana, and only 0.04 USDT on Aptos. Apart from TRC20, the minimum withdrawal is 1 USDT on all of them.
3. Gate states that withdrawal fees are “updated dynamically every hour, not fixed”; the actual amount is whatever the withdrawal page shows.
4. Transfers to another Gate account by Gate UID, email or phone number are free, and Gate states they arrive instantly, but once submitted they cannot be reversed.
5. After you bind or unbind a phone or Google Authenticator, change your email, reset your login password or change your fund password, there is a 24-hour protection period during which you cannot withdraw. Coins bought through fiat trading (C2C) can also only be withdrawn after 24 hours.

The information below was checked against Gate’s official pages on 2026-10-22 (data check date) and is provided for your reference.

How to deposit on Gate: USDT deposit steps

Before you start, make sure your account has completed identity verification (steps in the Gate KYC identity verification guide), and decide which network the sending side will use. Button names follow Gate’s official help articles; if the interface has changed, go by what you see on screen.

Deposit steps on the website

  1. Log in to Gate on the web, click “Deposit” on the homepage, then click “On-Chain Deposit”.
  2. Choose the coin to deposit (for example USDT) and the deposit network. The network must be the same one you select on the sending platform.
  3. Copy the deposit address or scan its QR code, then paste the address on the sending platform and complete the withdrawal there. If the chosen network needs a Memo, the page shows it alongside the address, and you must fill in both.

Deposit steps in the app

  1. Tap “Deposit” in the top-right corner of the homepage, or go to “Assets” → “Deposit”.
  2. Choose “On-Chain Deposit” and search for the coin name (for example USDT).
  3. Select the network (for example TRC20 or ERC20), then copy the address or save the QR code.
  4. Paste the address or scan the QR code on the sending platform, and check the network on both sides once more before you submit.
  5. To track progress, tap the “notebook” icon in the top-right corner of the deposit page to open “Recent Transactions”, then tap the entry to see “Deposit Details” and the block confirmation progress.

The steps are based on Gate: How to make on-chain deposits and withdrawals on Gate (web) and Gate: How to make on-chain deposits and withdrawals in the Gate App. The app tutorial says crediting time “depends on the block confirmation speed of the selected network, usually anywhere from a few minutes to several dozen minutes.” The official help does not list how many confirmations each coin needs; it only states that the required number is shown on the deposit page and that the system confirms the deposit automatically.

Which deposit network should you choose, and which need a Memo?

Pick the network that costs the least on the sending side and that Gate also accepts for deposits. Gate’s official fee data on 2026-10-22 lists 22 USDT networks, each with a deposit fee of 0 and a minimum deposit of 0.01 USDT. Deposits are suspended on Algorand and EOS, and the other 20 accept deposits. TON and EOS are marked as requiring a Memo; the rest only need an address.

If the Memo is missing or wrong, Gate states that this “will cause the deposit not to be credited.” In that case, apply through “Uncredited Deposit Refund”: on the website, click “Deposit” → “On-Chain Deposit” in the top-right corner, then click “Uncredited Deposit Refund” on the right side of the page and fill in the coin, the network and the transaction hash (TXID). For deposits over 100 USDT you must upload the original screen recording of the withdrawal process. The only charge is the actual on-chain fee, converted to USDT and deducted from your account, and it is refunded if the return fails (Gate: How to use “Uncredited Deposit Refund”).

If you sent the wrong network, contract address or coin, use the “Mistaken Deposit Recovery” page instead. Gate: common reasons a deposit is not credited states that mistaken deposit recoveries and uncredited deposit refunds are both expected to be processed within 7 business days, and that the charge covers on-chain costs, in the amount shown on the recovery page. Gate deposit FAQ states that unsupported coins or chains, inscriptions and NFTs cannot be recovered. A comparison of each exchange’s recovery rules is in what to do if you deposit on the wrong network, and terms such as network, Memo and transfer are explained in deposit and withdrawal terms explained.

Which account does a deposit go to, and how do you move it to futures?

Gate’s on-chain deposit tutorial does not state which account deposits land in, but other official help points to the spot account: the card purchase tutorial states that the coins go to the spot account, and one of the withdrawal entry points in the app whitelist tutorial is searching for the coin under “Spot Account” and tapping “Withdraw”.

To trade futures, you first need to transfer USDT from your spot account to your futures account. On the website, go to “Assets” in the top-right corner → “Futures Account” → “Transfer”. In the app, tap the “Transfer” icon on the futures trading page, choose the accounts, the margin currency and the amount, then tap “Transfer Now” (Gate: How to view and transfer futures account funds). To withdraw money held in the futures account, remember to move it back to the spot account first. If your account has been upgraded to a Unified Account, spot and C2C share one account, so there is no need to transfer back and forth (Gate: What is C2C trading). Futures use leverage, and if the price moves against you, your position may be forcibly liquidated; see the Gate futures guide for how it works.

No USDT yet? Ways to buy crypto with fiat on Gate

Gate’s official help lists three ways to get crypto with fiat currency. Whether you can use them, and which fiat currencies you can pay with, depends on your region and KYC status, so go by what the page shows before you place an order.

  • C2C (P2P): the Gate beginner FAQ gives the path “Buy Crypto” → “C2C”, and fiat trades currently carry no trading fee. Gate’s C2C help states that during a trade the platform temporarily locks the seller’s coins and releases them only after the buyer confirms payment. Payment methods are set by the merchant, and the official examples include bank transfer, Alipay and WeChat. The cost is built into the ad price; the P2P process and its risks are covered in the P2P crypto buying guide.
  • Credit/debit card (Gate Connect): after completing identity verification, go to the “Buy Crypto” page, enter the amount, choose the fiat currency and the coin, select a card channel under “Payment Method”, click “Confirm”, then choose your card and click “Buy”. The official tutorial says the coins are moved to your spot account automatically about 5 to 10 minutes after the payment succeeds; the fee is not stated (Gate Connect card purchase tutorial).
  • Third-party providers: from “Buy Crypto” → “Credit Card”, choose a payment channel, read the disclaimer and click “Continue”. You are taken to the page of a provider such as Banxa, Moonpay or Mercuryo to pay, and the coins are deposited directly into your Gate account. The official announcement does not state any fees, and the provider’s own terms apply (Gate third-party crypto purchase announcement, 2024-01-31).

Card purchases also come with an overseas transaction fee charged by your bank; see credit card crypto fees for how it is calculated.

How to withdraw from Gate: on-chain withdrawal steps

Withdrawal steps on the website

  1. Click “Assets” → “Fund Management” → “Withdraw” → “On-Chain”.
  2. Choose the coin and the network, paste the receiving address (on networks that need a Memo, fill in the Memo as well), enter the amount and click “Next”.
  3. Check the details on the confirmation page and click “Confirm”.
  4. On the security verification screen, enter your fund password and the verification codes, then click “Confirm” to finish.

Withdrawal steps in the app

  1. Go to “Assets” → “Withdraw”, choose “On-Chain Withdrawal” and enter the coin name.
  2. Select the “Network” (it must match the network of the receiving address), enter the “Address” and the “Withdrawal Amount”, check the fee and tap “Withdraw”.
  3. Check the details and tap “Confirm”, enter your fund password and the verification codes on the “Security Verification” page, then tap “Confirm”.
  4. Tap the “notebook” icon and open “Recent Transactions” to see the “Withdrawal Details” and the TXID.

The official tutorial warns that once a transaction is confirmed it cannot be reversed, and that if the address or contract address is wrong, the assets may not be credited and may not be recoverable. Before a withdrawal, Gate only checks the address format and does not guarantee that the receiving address supports deposits of that coin (Gate withdrawal FAQ), so check the receiving side’s deposit page yourself to confirm it supports that network.

Sources: the “Deposit & Withdrawal” tab of Gate’s fee page (the page loads its data with JavaScript, so I read the official public data that the page itself calls) and the USDT network list from Gate’s official API, checked 2026-10-22. Fees change, so go by what the withdrawal page shows before you withdraw.

The fee is a fixed amount per withdrawal, so the smaller the withdrawal, the larger the percentage. Take a 100 USDT withdrawal: on TRC20 you pay 1.5 USDT, or 1.5%; on BEP20 you pay 0.5 USDT, or 0.5%; on Aptos you pay 0.04 USDT, just 0.04%. If you transfer 10 times a month, TRC20 adds up to 15 USDT and Aptos to 0.4 USDT. This assumes the receiving side supports that network too; not every exchange or wallet accepts networks like Aptos. Gate does not officially state whether the fee is deducted from the withdrawal amount or charged on top, so check the amounts on the withdrawal page before you submit. For USDT withdrawal fees across exchanges, see USDT withdrawal fees compared.

As for withdrawal limits, Gate’s help center does not publish daily limit figures for each verification level. The only official statement is that completing the optional address verification can raise your withdrawal limit (Gate identity verification FAQ); your actual limit is shown on your account’s verification page. A comparison of limits across exchanges is in exchange withdrawal limits compared.

How do you set up the address book and whitelist?

In the app, go to “Assets” → “Withdraw”, choose a coin and tap “On-Chain Withdrawal”, tap the “Address Book” icon to the right of the address field, then tap “Add Address”, fill in the coin and network, the withdrawal address and an address name, and complete verification. Adding an address requires your fund password plus SMS and email verification codes, and a Google Authenticator code if you have bound one. You also need to have completed identity verification, set a fund password, and bound a phone number and email.

Gate’s whitelist exists to skip verification, which is different from the restrictive mode at some exchanges that only allows withdrawals to addresses on the list. If you tick “Add to verification-free list, no verification needed for future withdrawals”, withdrawals to that address skip the SMS, email and Google codes and the fund password. You can also tick “Save as universal address” so other coins on the same network share it (Gate: How to set up a withdrawal address whitelist in the app). The trade-off is that if your account is compromised, withdrawals to verification-free addresses need no codes either, so I recommend adding only your own wallets or your own deposit addresses at other exchanges. A comparison of security settings across exchanges is in exchange account security settings.

Is there a fee to send crypto to another Gate user?

No. If the other person also uses Gate, transferring by UID, email or phone number is the cheapest option. On the website, click “Transfer” under “Assets” → “Funds Overview”; in the app, go to “Assets” → “Withdraw” → “Phone/Email/Gate UID”, enter the recipient’s account and the amount, tap “Transfer”, then confirm with your fund password. Gate’s internal transfer help states that it “does not charge any fees”, that funds usually arrive within seconds, and that “once submitted, it cannot be reversed”; the platform cannot reverse it for you either (Gate: How to make an internal transfer).

There are two exceptions to know about. First, if the recipient has not completed identity verification or has not registered yet, they must manually “Accept” the funds, and until they do, you can tap “Revoke” to get the frozen funds back (Gate: How to transfer to a Gate user (app)). Second, a “priced transfer” is a transfer with a quoted price, which amounts to swapping coins with the other person; the 2023-11-22 launch announcement says it carries a 0.2% fee rate (Gate UID transfer launch announcement). There is also the deposit code (Gate Code): choose Gate Code when you withdraw and the system generates a code, which the recipient pastes into Gate Code on the deposit page for the funds to arrive automatically. It also only works between Gate accounts. For what else a UID is used for and when you should not give it out, see what an exchange UID is.

What to do if a Gate withdrawal is stuck or fails

The table below lists the situations in Gate’s official help that pause or delay withdrawals. Most are security mechanisms that lift once the waiting time is up or once you supply the missing information.

Sources are linked in the table, checked 2026-10-22. When a network is suspended, the only option is to wait for Gate to restore it; in the official network list on 2026-10-22, common USDT networks such as TRC20, ERC20 and BEP20 were all open.

More complex cases, such as an account restricted by risk control or a request for additional documents, are covered in what to do if your exchange account is frozen. Also be careful: none of the official procedures above requires you to pay an “unfreezing fee”, a “deposit” or “tax” first. Treat anyone who says you must send money before you can withdraw as a scammer. Common tactics are covered in fake exchange withdrawal scams, and in Taiwan you can call the 165 anti-fraud hotline to check.

FAQ

Does Gate charge a deposit fee?

Gate charges no fee for crypto deposits; what you pay is the sending side’s withdrawal fee. In Gate’s official fee data on 2026-10-22, the deposit fee is 0 on every USDT network and the minimum deposit is 0.01 USDT. Anything below the minimum deposit shown on the deposit page will not be credited.

Which network is cheapest for withdrawing USDT from Gate?

Among the common networks checked on 2026-10-22, Aptos is the cheapest at 0.04 USDT per withdrawal, and Polygon, Arbitrum One, Optimism and Plasma cost 0.05 USDT each. TRC20 costs 1.5 USDT with a 10 USDT minimum, which actually makes it more expensive than ERC20 at 1 USDT. Before you choose, make sure the receiving side supports that network.

How long do Gate withdrawals take?

Gate does not officially state a fixed processing time for withdrawals. The app tutorial says crediting time depends on the network’s block confirmation speed, usually from a few minutes to several dozen minutes. When risk control sends a withdrawal to manual review, Gate says this usually takes up to half an hour. It takes longer when the network is congested, and you can track progress with the TXID in “Recent Transactions”.

Can I withdraw from Gate without KYC?

No. Gate’s withdrawal FAQ states that all users must complete identity verification before they can withdraw, and deposits also require verification first. After you first complete identity verification, there is also a 24-hour period with no withdrawals, so do it early if you need to cash out soon.

Why can’t I withdraw from Gate after changing my password?

Gate disables withdrawals for 24 hours after a security setting changes. This is a protection mechanism, and Gate states it cannot be canceled. It is triggered by binding or unbinding a phone or Google Authenticator, changing your email, resetting your login password and changing your fund password. Withdrawals resume once the full 24 hours have passed; do not believe anyone who claims they can lift the block early.

What if I forgot the Memo when depositing to Gate?

Apply through Gate’s “Uncredited Deposit Refund” feature, which charges only the actual on-chain fee. You need to provide the TXID, and for amounts over 100 USDT you must attach a screen recording of the withdrawal on the sending platform. Gate says processing is expected within 7 business days, and you need to keep enough USDT in your account to pay the fee.

What is the cheapest way to move coins between two Gate accounts?

Use an internal transfer by Gate UID, email or phone number: there is no fee, and funds usually arrive within seconds. An on-chain withdrawal on TRC20, for example, costs 1.5 USDT each time. Internal transfers cannot be reversed once sent, so check the recipient’s UID digit by digit before you transfer.

Can I withdraw directly from my Gate futures account?

With a classic account, you first transfer the funds from the futures account back to the spot account, then withdraw from the spot account. Gate states that funds can be transferred between the spot and futures accounts. After an upgrade to a Unified Account, spot and C2C share one account, so there is no need to transfer back and forth.

If you don’t have a Gate account yet, sign-up steps and the referral code are in Gate referral code. Identity verification steps are in the Gate KYC guide, trading fees and VIP levels in Gate fees, reserves and security record in Gate review, and the security settings worth turning on before you withdraw in exchange account security settings.
