The referral rebate is a fee discount offered by OKX itself: the exchange sets the rate and pays the refund directly. What follows is information I compiled for reference.
Why is the OKX referral rebate capped at 20%?
The OKX affiliate FAQ says “The invitee’s rebate rate ranges from 0% to 20%”, and the affiliate sets the rate within that range (OKX affiliate FAQ). OKX also says an affiliate can only raise an invitee’s rate, not lower or cancel it (OKX affiliate and referral FAQ). (Official pages checked on 2026-10-08.)
This code currently gives 20%, which you can compare against the 0%–20% range.
Where does OKX show the referral rebate rate at sign-up?
After you enter the referral code, the OKX sign-up page shows that the rebate rate is active. Compare it with the screenshot before you register.
Why does an OKX referral code fail to bind?
OKX lists these common reasons a referral doesn’t bind:
- the wrong code was entered at registration;
- the user signed up through a paid advertising channel, where a code is prefilled and can’t be edited;
- the user opened the referral link but downloaded the app before finishing registration, in which case the binding may not be established.

How do you confirm your OKX referral code is bound after signing up?
The OKX affiliate FAQ says to look in the app under Menu → User Center → “My Rewards”, which shows the rebate rate your affiliate assigned. If the module isn’t there, no rate has been assigned. Another OKX article gives Menu → Account settings → Profile → “Referral rewards”; if that entry is visible, a referral relationship exists. The two articles give different paths, so follow what your app shows.
If you already have an OKX account
OKX says referral codes must be added before the account is created; they can’t be added or changed afterwards, and deleting the account to register again isn’t allowed (OKX referral program). OKX’s affiliate rules also say that a user with no deposits, trades or logins for more than 180 days may have the referral relationship removed and be re-attributed to another affiliate.
How is the OKX referral rebate calculated?
The rebate is a share of the trading fees you pay, not of your trading volume. OKX calculates commission on net fees times the rate. If you pay 100 USDT in fees in a month at a 20% rebate, you get 20 USDT back that month.

Which trades earn no rebate
OKX’s affiliate rules list cases where no commission is paid. The invitee’s rebate is a share of that commission, so these trades usually earn no rebate either:
- trades in coins that charge no fees;
- fees offset with rebate cards, futures credits or contract vouchers;
- trades at a special fee rate;
- market maker or broker accounts;
- VIP7 and above (VIP5 and VIP6 stop once a monthly commission cap is reached);
- managed sub-accounts.

OKX sign-up bonuses (new-user tasks, trial funds) vs the referral code rebate: what’s the difference?
OKX’s new-user tasks, trial funds and vouchers are one-off promotions. You usually have to complete tasks such as identity verification, a deposit or a trading volume target to get them; amounts and conditions change from campaign to campaign and they expire, so the campaign page and its terms are what count. The referral code rebate is bound at sign-up, and from then on a share of every fee you actually pay is refunded automatically. It’s separate from the sign-up bonus, so you don’t have to choose one or the other.
OKX trading bonuses can only be used for cross margin, perpetual futures, expiry futures and options in futures mode. They have to be activated first and expire if not activated in time (OKX trading bonus guide, checked 2026-10-12), and the bonus itself can’t be withdrawn. OKX’s affiliate rules also state that trades whose fees are offset with rebate cards, futures credits or contract vouchers earn no commission, so that part gets no referral code rebate. OKX’s risk and compliance disclosure lists restricted locations including Afghanistan, Canada, Cuba, Hong Kong, Iran, India, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, North Korea, Syria, the Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine, certain US jurisdictions (including all US territories) and Uzbekistan. Common questions
Where do I enter the OKX referral code?
In the “Referral code (optional)” field on the sign-up page, and it has to be entered before the account is created. If you can’t see the field, sign up from the page opened by the referral link instead; once the account is created, OKX can’t add or change a referral code.
When does the rebate arrive?
OKX says affiliate commissions are usually paid within 1–2 hours of a trade. The global help center doesn’t give a separate time for the invitee’s rebate; your account records are the reference.
Why can’t I see the rebate module?
OKX says that if “My Rewards” shows no rebate module, your affiliate hasn’t assigned you a rate. Check the rate shown on the sign-up page before you register.
Can I pay fees with OKB?
No. OKX states that OKB can’t offset trading fees, and holding OKB doesn’t change your fee tier.
Does the rebate expire?
OKX’s global pages don’t give an expiry for the invitee’s rebate. Note that an account with no activity for more than 180 days may lose its referral relationship.
If I sign up in the app, can the OKX referral code get lost?
It can. OKX states that if you open a referral link, then download the app separately and sign up in the app, the code carried by the link may not be applied; and if you clicked a referral link or downloaded an app that came with a referral code in the past 30 days, that code may already be tied to your device. What are OKX’s trading fees?
For regular users, standard spot pairs are 0.08% maker and 0.1% taker, and futures are 0.02% maker and 0.05% taker. OKX has no platform token discount; the higher your VIP tier, the lower the rate. Is OKX safe?
According to the records compiled on this site, there are no major public incidents of theft from OKX’s platform wallets (as of 2026-10-12). There were two larger events: withdrawals were suspended for about 41 days, from 2020-10-16 to 11-26, because the person holding the private keys was cooperating with a police investigation; and on 2025-02-24, OKX’s operating entity pleaded guilty in the US, with fines and forfeiture totaling more than US$504 million.
