The referral rebate is a fee discount offered by HTX itself: the exchange sets the rate and pays the refund directly. What follows is information I compiled for reference.
Where does the HTX invitee’s rebate rate come from?
HTX’s referral rules give regular-user referrers a 30% commission and HTX affiliates 60%, on spot and futures (HTX referral program rules). Referrers can create a custom invitation code and set the invitee’s share; the code can’t be modified once created (HTX custom invitation code notice). (Official pages checked on 2026-10-08.)
The rate this code sets for invitees is 30%, shown on the sign-up page once you enter the code.
Does the HTX sign-up page show the rebate rate?
After you enter the referral code, the HTX sign-up page shows the share you receive. Compare it with the screenshot before you register.

How do you check your HTX referral code after signing up?
The paths HTX documents are for referrers: in the app, Referral → My Referrals; on the web, the profile icon → My Referrals. HTX doesn’t say where an invitee sees their own rate or records; your account records are the reference.
What if you already have an HTX account?
HTX documents no way to add or change a referral code after registration, so enter it when you sign up. HTX also treats users who re-register after closing an account as invalid invitees.
How is the HTX referral rebate calculated?
The rebate is a share of the trading fees you pay, not of your trading volume. HTX calculates it on the net fees the invitee actually pays: the fee minus spot vouchers, futures trial bonuses, zero fees, negative fees and similar. When fees are paid in HTX or TRX, the rebate is paid in that token.
HTX standard fees
| Market | Maker | Taker |
|---|---|---|
| Spot | 0.2% | 0.2% |
| USDT-margined perpetual futures | 0.02% | 0.06% |
These are Prime 0 rates. Paying with HTX or TRX takes 25% off spot fees (0.15%) and 5% off futures fees (HTX fee page, checked on 2026-10-08).
Example: USDT-margined perpetual futures (taker 0.06%)
| Monthly volume | Fees (0.06%) | Auto rebate (30%) | Net fees |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10,000 USDT | 6 USDT | 1.8 USDT | 4.2 USDT |
| 100,000 USDT | 60 USDT | 18 USDT | 42 USDT |
| 1,000,000 USDT | 600 USDT | 180 USDT | 420 USDT |
Example at a futures fee rate of 0.06% and the current 30% automatic rebate (rate updated 2026-10-24). Your exchange statement prevails.
Example: spot (0.2%)
| Monthly volume | Fees (0.2%) | Auto rebate (30%) | Net fees |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10,000 USDT | 20 USDT | 6 USDT | 14 USDT |
| 100,000 USDT | 200 USDT | 60 USDT | 140 USDT |
| 1,000,000 USDT | 2,000 USDT | 600 USDT | 1,400 USDT |
Example at a spot fee rate of 0.2% and the current 30% automatic rebate (rate updated 2026-10-24). Your exchange statement prevails.
Which HTX trades earn no rebate?
- Fees offset with spot vouchers or futures trial bonuses, and zero-fee or negative-fee trades.
- Market maker accounts.
- Users at Prime 9 or above.
- Trades at special or preferential fee rates.
- Money laundering, multiple-account manipulation and self-trading.

Does the HTX rebate expire?
HTX’s current rules say the referrer’s commission is “valid indefinitely”, while the rules on HTX’s older invitation page still say 730 days. The two official pages disagree, and neither gives a separate duration for the invitee’s rebate. The rate on this page syncs with HTX daily and updates if it changes.
HTX sign-up bonuses (new-user tasks, trial funds) vs the referral code rebate: what’s the difference?
HTX’s new-user tasks, trial funds and vouchers are one-off promotions. You usually have to complete tasks such as identity verification, a deposit or a trading volume target to get them; amounts and conditions change from campaign to campaign and they expire, so the campaign page and its terms are what count. The referral code rebate is bound at sign-up, and from then on a share of every fee you actually pay is refunded automatically. It’s separate from the sign-up bonus, so you don’t have to choose one or the other.
HTX’s new-user gift package covers tasks such as signing up, a first deposit, a first spot trade and a first futures trade, plus a limited-time new-user challenge within 30 days of signing up. HTX states that tasks and rewards vary by user and the campaign page is what counts, and that trading volume made with futures trial bonuses or fee rebate vouchers doesn’t count toward task progress (HTX new-user gift package guide, checked 2026-10-15). HTX’s futures trial bonus rules state that the bonus itself can’t be withdrawn, profits from trading with it can, and trades made with the bonus earn no fee rebate (HTX futures trial bonus rules, 2025-04-25 version). The referral rules also state that net fees exclude the parts covered by spot vouchers and futures trial bonuses. In addition, the HTX user agreement bars users in Taiwan from trading derivatives. Where is HTX not available?
HTX’s user agreement bars users in mainland China, the United States, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Myanmar, Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Sevastopol, Russia and all EU member states from all services. Users in Taiwan, Israel, Iraq, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Ecuador, Kyrgyzstan and New Zealand may not trade derivatives and can use spot and other services only. The list changes; the HTX user agreement prevails (version updated 2026-09).
Common questions
What currency is the rebate paid in?
HTX follows the fee currency: fees paid in USDT are rebated in USDT, and fees paid in HTX or TRX in that token.
When does the rebate arrive?
HTX says referrer commissions are credited between 20:00 and 21:00 (UTC+8) the day after the trade. It gives no separate time for the invitee’s rebate; your account records are the reference.
Who sets the HTX invitee’s rebate rate?
The referrer. HTX lets referrers set the invitee’s rebate rate when they create a custom invitation code, and the code can’t be modified once created; the sign-up page shows this rate after you enter the referral code.
The rate this code currently sets for invitees is 30%.
Can I still add an HTX referral code after signing up?
HTX’s official pages document no way to add or change a referral code, so an HTX referral code has to be entered when you sign up. HTX also states that users who re-register after closing an account are invalid invitees.
What existing account holders can do, and the risks to watch for, are covered in the HTX referral code rebinding guide; for how exchanges compare on adding a code later, see can you add a referral code after signing up?
What are HTX’s trading fees?
For regular HTX users (Prime 0), spot fees are 0.2% each for maker and taker; turning on the HTX or TRX discount takes 25% off, bringing it to 0.15%.
USDT-margined perpetual futures are 0.02% maker and 0.06% taker, but the HTX user agreement bars users in Taiwan from trading derivatives, so for users in Taiwan the fee that matters in practice is mainly the spot fee. Prime tiers, withdrawal fees and worked examples are covered in HTX trading fees.
Is HTX safe?
No exchange can guarantee safety; what you can look at is its track record. HTX’s hot wallets were hacked twice in 2023: about 5,000 ETH in September, which the hacker later returned; and in November, when HTX said it lost about US$30 million and would compensate in full, with deposits and withdrawals gradually resuming about 4 days later.
The latest reserve report available in HTX’s official announcements is for 2026-06-01: BTC 103%, ETH 100%, and 104% for USDs combined. The full record is in the exchange safety record and exchange proof of reserves compared.
Can I use fee vouchers together with the referral code rebate?
The part of the fee covered by a voucher earns no rebate; the fee you actually pay is counted as usual. HTX’s rules state that the rebate is calculated on net fees, which exclude the parts covered by spot vouchers and futures trial bonuses, as well as zero-fee and negative-fee trades.
Futures trial bonuses can only be used on futures, and the HTX user agreement bars users in Taiwan from trading derivatives. The HTX or TRX discount isn’t a voucher: the rules don’t spell out how the rebate is calculated after the discount, but once it’s on, what you actually pay is the discounted amount, and the rebate is also paid in that token. For the full comparison, see fee vouchers vs referral code rebates.
