HTX Fees (2026): Spot, Futures, VIP and HTX Discount

Updated Rules checked 2026-10-11

For regular HTX (formerly Huobi) users at Prime 0, spot fees are 0.2% for both Maker and Taker; USDT-margined perpetual futures are Maker 0.02% and Taker 0.06%; coin-margined futures are Maker 0.02% and Taker 0.05%. Turn on the HTX or TRX discount under “My Fee Rate” and spot fees drop by 25% (to 0.15%), while futures fees drop by 5%.

Auto fee rebate (fee discount)30%

One thing up front: the HTX user agreement bars users in Taiwan from trading derivatives. For readers in Taiwan, the fee you’ll actually pay is mainly the 0.2% spot fee. This guide still covers futures fees for readers in regions where futures trading is allowed.

Enter the referral code KEVINWU when you sign up, and HTX automatically refunds 30% of your fees, based on the friend reward share set by the referrer. The rebate applies to the net fees you actually pay; fees covered by vouchers or trial funds, and zero-fee trades, don’t count.

The fees below were checked against HTX’s official pages on 2026-10-11 and are provided for reference.

Key points:
1. For regular HTX users at Prime 0, spot fees are 0.2% for both Maker and Taker, and USDT-margined perpetual futures are Maker 0.02% and Taker 0.06% (checked against the official fee page on 2026-10-11).
2. The HTX user agreement bars users in Taiwan from trading derivatives, so what readers in Taiwan will actually pay is mainly the 0.2% spot fee.
3. Turning on the HTX or TRX discount takes 25% off spot, bringing it to 0.15%, and 5% off futures; you can choose only one of the two.
4. Account assets of 5,000 USDT, HTX holdings worth 1,000 USDT, or 30,000 USDT of spot volume in 30 days: meeting any one of these makes you Prime 1, and the spot Taker rate drops to 0.17%.
5. Checked on 2026-10-12, withdrawing USDT from HTX costs 0.01 USDT on BEP20 and 0.5 USDT on TRC20; its TRC20 fee ties with MEXC as the lowest of the 13 exchanges.

How much does HTX charge for spot and futures?

MarketMakerTakerWith HTX / TRX discountNotes
Spot0.2%0.2%0.15% / 0.15%25% off; Maker and Taker cost the same at Prime 0
USDT-margined perpetual futures0.02%0.06%0.019% / 0.057%5% off; under the user agreement, users in Taiwan can’t trade derivatives
Coin-margined futures0.02%0.05%0.019% / 0.0475% (estimated from the 5% discount)Fees are charged in that contract’s coin, e.g. BTC for BTC contracts

The fees and discounted fees come from the Prime fee table on HTX’s My Fee Rate page (checked 2026-10-11). The discount rates follow the HTX token listing announcement (HTX discount: 25% off spot, 5% off futures) and the HTX announcement on paying fees with TRX. The rule that users in Taiwan can’t trade derivatives is in the HTX platform user agreement (2026-09 version).

What’s the difference between Maker and Taker?

A Maker order is a limit order that doesn’t fill right away and sits on the order book until someone trades against it. A Taker order is a market order, or a limit order that fills immediately against an order already on the book. HTX’s futures fee explainer draws the same line: a limit order that doesn’t match a resting order and is placed on the book to wait counts as Maker.

The same page gives this example: open a 200-contract BTCUSDT long as Taker at 5,000 USDT (0.001 BTC per contract), and the opening fee is 200 × 0.001 × 5,000 × 0.06% = 0.6 USDT; later close it with a resting order at 6,000 USDT, and the fee is 200 × 0.001 × 6,000 × 0.02% = 0.24 USDT. On futures, the Taker fee is 3 times the Maker fee. For the gap between Maker and Taker rates across 13 exchanges, see Maker vs Taker fees.

Spot works differently. At Prime 0, spot Maker and Taker are both 0.2%, so resting orders and immediate fills cost the same; the two only split at Prime 1 (Maker 0.16%, Taker 0.17%). On HTX spot, switching to limit orders to save on fees does almost nothing for regular users.

How much are HTX spot fees?

CaseFee rateFee on a 10,000 USDT BTC purchase
Prime 0, Maker or Taker0.2%20 USDT
Prime 0, HTX / TRX discount on0.15%15 USDT
Prime 1, Taker0.17%17 USDT
Prime 1, Taker + discount0.1275%12.75 USDT

The Prime 1 and discounted rates are from HTX’s My Fee Rate page (2026-10-11). With the discount on, the fee is converted at the current market price and deducted as the equivalent amount of HTX or TRX. You can pick only one of HTX and TRX; they don’t stack. Without the discount, I couldn’t find anything in HTX’s official documentation stating which coin the fee is taken from, so check your trade details for the actual deduction.

Zero-fee pairs: HTX has waived fees on 10 pairs, including USDC/USDT, TUSD/USDT, USDD/USDT, DAI/USDT and BTC/USDD, and the most recent announcement extended this to 2025-06-30 (HTX announcement extending the zero-fee promotion). The announcements I found don’t mention another extension, so check the fee shown on the trading page to see whether these pairs are still free. The announcement states that zero-fee volume doesn’t count toward Prime trading volume, and the referral rules also exclude zero-fee trades from rebates.

What are HTX futures fees based on?

Readers in Taiwan, start here: the HTX platform user agreement lists the jurisdictions where derivatives trading is prohibited, and Taiwan is one of them (along with Israel, Iraq, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Ecuador, Kyrgyzstan and New Zealand). In Taiwan, you can use spot and other services on HTX; the futures fees below only matter in regions where futures trading is allowed.

Contract type (Prime 0)MakerTakerFee currency
USDT-margined perpetual futures0.02%0.06%USDT
Coin-margined futures0.02%0.05%That contract’s coin, e.g. BTC

HTX’s formula for USDT-margined futures is: fee = number of contracts × contract face value × average fill price × fee rate. In other words, it’s position value × fee rate, not a percentage of your margin. You pay it on both opening and closing; it’s deducted after the fill and counted in realized PnL. For coin-margined futures, the formula is (number of contracts × contract face value ÷ average fill price) × fee rate, charged in that contract’s coin (HTX on coin-margined futures fee calculation). TradFi contracts such as stocks, forex and commodities sit in a separate fee group on the fee page (Group 2). From Prime 0 to Prime 4 their fees match regular USDT-margined futures; they only differ from Prime 5 onward (Prime 5, for example, is Maker 0% and Taker 0.0342%). For how notional value is calculated, with worked examples for 13 exchanges, see how futures fees are calculated.

Example: with 1,000 USDT of margin at 10x leverage, the position value is 1,000 × 10 = 10,000 USDT. Opening as Taker: 10,000 × 0.06% = 6 USDT; closing as Taker (assuming the price hasn’t moved) is another 6 USDT, so the round trip costs 12 USDT in total, or 1.2% of your margin. With the HTX / TRX discount it’s 10,000 × 0.057% × 2 = 11.4 USDT; opening and closing both as Maker, it’s 10,000 × 0.02% × 2 = 4 USDT.

The higher the leverage, the larger the position the same margin controls, and fees grow in proportion. If the price moves against you, the position may be liquidated and you can lose all of your margin. In regions where futures trading is allowed, before opening a position you can estimate the liquidation price with the liquidation price calculator and add up fees and funding together with the perpetual futures cost calculator.

How do HTX Prime tiers (VIP) work?

HTX’s VIP program is called Prime and runs from Prime 0 to Prime 11. Meeting any one of the four conditions below gets you the tier (from “How to upgrade Prime” on HTX’s My Fee Rate page, checked 2026-10-11, in USDT):

  • Recalculated daily: 30-day volume is tallied at 00:00 (UTC+8) every day, in USDT. Assets are snapshotted at random times each day and the daily average is used; the fee page states that HTX tokens count toward your assets at 1.5 times their market value, and assets in margin loans or being lent out aren’t included in the snapshot.
  • Sub-accounts: the main account’s tier combines the 30-day volume of the main account and its sub-accounts, and sub-accounts follow the main account’s tier.
  • Accounts registered with a referral code: under the HTX referral trading reward rules, since 2024-05-15 invited users can only go up to Prime 8; if they upgrade further, the platform stops paying trading rewards. Invited users at Prime 9 and above don’t receive them either.

The most notable thing in this table is how low the Prime 1 bar is: 5,000 USDT of assets in your account, or 1,000 USDT worth of HTX, or 30,000 USDT of spot trading in 30 days. Meet any one and you’re Prime 1. The spot Taker fee drops from 0.2% to 0.17%, 15% less. Keep in mind, though, that assets held on an exchange carry custody risk and the HTX token’s price goes up and down, so weigh both before parking extra assets there just to upgrade. For how VIP tiers and referral rebates interact at each exchange, see does your referral rebate survive a VIP upgrade.

What discount do you get by paying fees with HTX or TRX?

HT was Huobi’s old platform token. From 2024-01-22, paying fees with HT was discontinued and replaced by the HTX discount, using HTX, the governance token of HTX DAO (HTX token listing announcement). From 2024-03-08, TRX was added as a second option (HTX announcement on paying fees with TRX).

  • Discount: spot gets a further 25% off your Prime tier’s rate, and futures get 5% off. At Prime 0, spot goes from 0.2% to 0.15%, and the USDT-margined futures Taker fee goes from 0.06% to 0.057%.
  • How to turn it on: after logging in on desktop or the app, go to “Personal Center” → “My Fee Rate” and choose your fee discount method. You can pick only one of HTX and TRX; they don’t stack.
  • Requirements: you need to hold enough HTX or TRX when you trade; the system converts the amount at the current market price and deducts it. The announcement doesn’t say what happens to a trade when your balance isn’t enough to cover it.

How the discount and the rebate interact: HTX’s rules say trading rewards are calculated on the invited user’s “net fees actually paid,” meaning fees after excluding special items such as spot vouchers, futures trial funds, zero-fee and negative-fee trades (HTX referral trading reward rules). The rules don’t spell out the order of calculation once the discount is applied, but with the discount on, what you actually pay is the discounted amount. The rules also state that if you pay fees in HTX, trading rewards are settled in HTX; if you pay in TRX, they’re settled in TRX.

Do funding rates count as trading fees?

Perpetual futures also carry funding fees, which are settled entirely between users; HTX takes no cut. When the funding rate is positive, longs pay shorts; when it’s negative, shorts pay longs. The formula is funding fee = net position × contract face value × settlement price × funding rate, where the settlement price is the mark price at that moment. Close before settlement and you neither pay nor receive it (HTX on funding fees).

The settlement interval depends on the pair: 8 hours, 4 hours or 1 hour. I pulled HTX’s contract specification data on 2026-10-11: of 380 live USDT-margined perpetual contracts, 273 settle every 8 hours, 94 every 4 hours and 13 every hour. BTCUSDT is on 8 hours, settling at 00:00, 08:00 and 16:00 (UTC+8). For settlement intervals and rate caps across 13 exchanges, see what the funding rate is.

In money terms: a 10,000 USDT long facing a +0.01% funding rate pays 1 USDT per settlement, so at once every 8 hours that’s 3 USDT a day. The rate can also be negative. For BTCUSDT on 2026-10-11 (UTC+8), the three settlements at 00:00, 08:00 and 16:00 had funding rates of -0.0039%, -0.0013% and -0.0117%, all negative, so that day shorts paid longs (HTX historical funding rate data). Funding fees aren’t trading fees and earn no rebate. If your wallet balance can’t cover them, they come out of your position margin, which may move your liquidation price closer.

Do deposits, withdrawals, Convert and C2C cost anything?

  • Deposits: HTX’s currency data lists only minimum deposit amounts (for example, at least 1 USDT for USDT on BEP20) and no deposit fee. On-chain network fees are paid by the sender. A common route for users in Taiwan is to buy USDT with New Taiwan dollars (TWD) on a local exchange and withdraw it to HTX; in that case you pay the local exchange’s withdrawal fee.
  • Withdrawals: a fixed fee by coin and network. I pulled HTX’s currency and network data on 2026-10-11: USDT on BEP20 is 0.01 USDT, on TRC20 0.5 USDT, and on ERC20, Solana and TON 0.3 USDT each; BTC on the Bitcoin mainnet is 0.00005 BTC; ETH on mainnet is 0.0005 ETH. That day, USDT withdrawals on the Arbitrum and Polygon networks were suspended. Fees change, so go by what the withdrawal page shows before you withdraw.
  • Convert (coin-to-coin swap): HTX states that the conversion price depends on current market conditions, there’s no fee, and the quote expires when the countdown ends (HTX beginner’s guide to Convert). No fee doesn’t mean no cost, so compare the quote with the spot price before you submit.
  • C2C / buying crypto with a card: HTX says P2P purchases carry a 0% fee, with prices set by the advertiser; card purchase quotes include fees from the card issuer, card network and acquirer, plus HTX’s spread and a fixed service fee (HTX on crypto purchase fees).

Deposits, withdrawals, Convert and C2C aren’t trading fees, so they earn no referral rebate.

USDT withdrawal fees: checked again on 2026-10-12, HTX charges 0.01 USDT for USDT on BEP20, 0.04 USDT on Avalanche C-Chain, 0.1 USDT on Aptos, 0.3 USDT each on ERC20, Solana and TON, and 0.5 USDT on TRC20, with a minimum withdrawal of 1 USDT on most networks; withdrawals on Arbitrum, Polygon and Plasma were suspended that day. For transfers from HTX to MAX or BitoPro, BEP20 is the cheapest either way. For fees by network on 13 exchanges, see USDT withdrawal fees compared.

How do I check my fee tier?

  • Web: after logging in, go to “Personal Center” → “My Fee Rate,” or open HTX’s My Fee Rate page directly. It shows the rates for each tier, “How to upgrade Prime,” and the HTX / TRX discount options.
  • App: “Personal Center” → “My Fee Rate” (the path given in the TRX discount announcement).
  • Individual pairs: the trading page and your trade details show the rate you actually paid on that order, which will differ from the tables above when a promotion or special rate applies.

What do you actually pay after the referral rebate?

HTX calculates referral rebates on net fees: fee = trade amount × fee rate, and net fee = fee minus special items such as spot vouchers, futures trial funds, zero-fee and negative-fee trades, and specially designated pairs. The rebate isn’t calculated on trade amount. Under the HTX referral trading reward rules, there’s no rebate in these cases:

  • Fees covered by spot vouchers or futures trial funds, and zero-fee or negative-fee trades.
  • Invited users at Prime 9 or above. Invited accounts can go up to Prime 8; going higher requires contacting an account manager, after which the platform stops paying trading rewards.
  • Market maker accounts, and cheating such as money laundering, controlling multiple accounts or insider trading.

Fees from an invited user’s sub-accounts are added to the main account. The referrer’s trading reward is paid between 20:00 and 21:00 (UTC+8) the day after the invited user trades; HTX doesn’t separately state when the invited user’s own share arrives.

Monthly volume examples

First the spot case most common among readers in Taiwan, then futures (only for regions where futures trading is allowed):

  • 20,000 USDT of spot a month (Prime 0): 20,000 × 0.2% = 40 USDT; with the HTX / TRX discount, 20,000 × 0.15% = 30 USDT.
  • 100,000 USDT of spot a month: this pushes your 30-day volume past 30,000 USDT and up to Prime 1 (Taker 0.17%). At Prime 1 for the whole month it’s 170 USDT, versus 200 USDT at the Prime 0 rate; add the discount and it’s 0.1275%, or 127.5 USDT.
  • 300,000 USDT of futures a month, all as Taker: at Prime 0 it’s 300,000 × 0.06% = 180 USDT; once your 30-day futures volume reaches 300,000 USDT you move up to Prime 1 and pay 0.055% from then on, which makes the same volume 165 USDT.

Multiply these fees by the rebate rate to get that month’s rebate, and you can confirm the amounts with the estimators above. If you use both the HTX discount and a referral code, your actual spot cost can be estimated as original fee × 0.75 × (1 − rebate rate); for futures it’s original fee × 0.95 × (1 − rebate rate). The two discounts multiply rather than add; the reasoning is in the referral rebate glossary. The HTX referral code and sign-up steps are in HTX referral code, and for a comparison of each exchange’s fees after rebates, see real trading fees after referral rebates. For the official VIP 0 rates of 13 exchanges ranked from lowest to highest, see lowest-fee crypto exchanges ranked.

How can you save on HTX fees?

Ranked by how much a typical spot user in Taiwan can save:

  1. Turn on the HTX or TRX discount: a flat 25% off spot. With 20,000 USDT of spot a month, fees drop from 40 USDT to 30 USDT. The catch is that you need to hold HTX or TRX first, and the price swings of those two coins are part of the cost.
  2. Use a referral code when you sign up: you get back a set share of the fees you actually pay (see the estimators above for amounts), and it multiplies with the discount. HTX’s official documentation shows no way to add or change a referral code after registration, so be sure to enter it when you sign up. See the HTX referral code rebinding guide and can you add a referral code after signing up?
  3. Reach Prime 1: the bar is 5,000 USDT of assets, 1,000 USDT of HTX, or 30,000 USDT of spot trading in 30 days. The spot Taker fee drops from 0.2% to 0.17%, a 15% saving, and with the discount it’s 0.1275%.
  4. Pick the right withdrawal network: for the same USDT withdrawal on 2026-10-11, TRC20 cost 0.5 USDT and BEP20 only 0.01 USDT; withdraw 24 times a year and that’s a difference of almost 12 USDT. Before you choose, confirm the receiving side supports that network; pick the wrong one and you may not get your assets back.
  5. Use Maker orders on futures: only useful in regions where futures trading is allowed. The USDT-margined futures Maker fee of 0.02% is a third of the 0.06% Taker fee; in the 10,000 USDT position example above, the round trip drops from 12 USDT to 4 USDT. On spot at Prime 0, Maker and Taker cost the same, so switching to Maker saves nothing.

FAQ

What are HTX’s fees?

For regular HTX users at Prime 0, spot Maker and Taker are both 0.2%, USDT-margined perpetual futures are Maker 0.02% and Taker 0.06%, and coin-margined futures are 0.02% / 0.05% (fee page, 2026-10-11). With the HTX or TRX discount on, spot becomes 0.15% and futures get 5% off; the higher your Prime tier, the lower the fees.

How are HTX futures fees calculated?

Position value times the fee rate, regardless of how much margin you use. With 1,000 USDT of margin at 10x, the position is 10,000 USDT, and opening plus closing as Taker costs 10,000 × 0.06% × 2 = 12 USDT; with the discount it’s 11.4 USDT, and all Maker it’s 4 USDT.

Can I trade HTX futures in Taiwan?

No. The HTX platform user agreement (2026-09 version) lists Taiwan among the jurisdictions where derivatives trading is prohibited, so users in Taiwan can only use spot and other services. For users in Taiwan, the main trading cost is the 0.2% spot fee.

Where can I see my HTX fees?

After logging in, go to “Personal center” → “My fee rates”, or open HTX’s My Fee Rates page directly, to see the rates for each Prime tier, how to move up a tier, and the HTX / TRX discount options. In the app, the path is also “Personal center” → “My fee rates”. For the actual rate on a single trade, go by the trading page and your fill details.

What are HTX’s withdrawal fees?

They vary by coin and network. HTX’s currency data on 2026-10-11: USDT on BEP20 is 0.01 USDT, on TRC20 0.5 USDT, and on ERC20 0.3 USDT; BTC on mainnet is 0.00005 BTC. HTX lists no deposit fee, and withdrawal fees earn no rebate. When checked again on 2026-10-12, the fees on these three networks hadn’t changed; for USDT fees by network on 13 exchanges, see USDT withdrawal fees compared.

Is it worth paying fees with HTX or TRX?

Spot gets a flat 25% off, from 0.2% to 0.15%; futures save only 5%. How much you save depends on how much you pay in fees: 40 USDT a month in spot fees saves you 10 USDT. Whether that’s worth holding HTX or TRX for depends on the coin’s price swings too; you can pick only one of the two, and they don’t stack.

Can I use a referral rebate and the HTX discount together?

Yes. The rebate is calculated on the net fees you actually pay, and with the discount on, what you pay is the discounted amount, so your spot cost can be estimated as original fee × 0.75 × (1 − rebate rate). When you pay fees in HTX, the rebate is also settled in HTX.

Why are the HTX fees I see different from this guide?

The most common reasons are a different Prime tier or having the HTX / TRX discount turned on. Your tier is recalculated daily from 30-day volume and assets, and the asset bar is low: with 5,000 USDT in your account, you may already be Prime 1. TradFi contracts also use a separate fee table from Prime 5 onward, and zero-fee promotions, vouchers and trial funds can make what you pay on a single trade differ from the fee table. Go by what the trading page and your trade details show.

If your rebate hasn’t arrived, start with used a referral code but got no rebate; the cases where rebates get cancelled or withheld are covered in can rebates be cancelled? For how the referrer’s commission differs from the invitee’s rebate, see referrer commission vs. invitee rebate. To compare other exchanges, see crypto exchange referral codes.
