Pionex Fees (2026): Spot, Futures, VIP and Grid Bots

Updated Rules checked 2026-10-11

For regular Pionex users (VIP 0), spot fees are 0.05% for both Maker and Taker, and futures are 0.02% Maker and 0.05% Taker. Trading bots such as Grid and Martingale don’t charge a usage fee; when a bot actually fills a trade, you pay the same trading fee rates. Pionex has no platform token, so there’s no platform token discount.

Auto fee rebate (fee discount)15%
Referral codeKEVINWU

For accounts registered with a referral code, Pionex reduces your fees by the percentage set on that referral code; this code’s fee reduction is 15%. The reduction is paid back to your account in USDT after trades settle, and it applies to spot, leveraged tokens and futures, including trades filled by bots.

This guide puts spot, futures, bots, VIP tiers, funding rates and withdrawal fees in one place, with an official source for every figure and worked examples of how futures and grid fees are calculated. The rates below were checked against Pionex’s official pages on 2026-10-11 and are provided for reference.

Key points:
1. For regular Pionex users (VIP 0), spot fees are 0.05% for both Maker and Taker, and futures are Maker 0.02% and Taker 0.05% (checked against the official help center on 2026-10-11).
2. Grid, Martingale and other trading bots are free to use, and you pay trading fees only when orders fill; on a spot grid, the price gap per grid needs to exceed about 0.1% to make a profit after the fees on one buy and one sell.
3. Pionex has no platform token. The referral code benefit is a fee reduction, credited to your account in USDT after trades settle.
4. In Pionex’s official example, fully liquidating a 20,000 USDT position at a 1.75% liquidation fee rate costs 350 USDT; closing it yourself with a market order costs at most 10 USDT.
5. Checked on 2026-10-12, withdrawing USDT from Pionex costs 0.011 USDT on Plasma, 0.2 USDT on BEP20 and 1 USDT on TRC20.

What’s the difference between Maker and Taker on Pionex?

Pionex’s rule is: an order that goes onto the order book and waits for someone else to trade against it is a Maker order; an order that fills against an existing order as soon as you place it is a Taker order. Market orders are always Taker. For limit orders, it depends on whether the order fills the moment you place it. With BTC at 90,000 USDT, a buy order at 89,000 is Maker, while a buy order at 91,000 fills immediately at the market price and counts as Taker even though it’s a limit order (Pionex: the difference between Maker and Taker and how it’s determined).

Example: BTC is at 90,000 USDT and you buy 0.1 BTC with a market order on USDT-margined futures. The trade is worth 9,000 USDT, and the fee is 9,000 × 0.05% = 4.5 USDT. If you instead place a limit order at 89,000 USDT and it fills once the price dips, the trade is worth 8,900 USDT, and the fee is 8,900 × 0.02% = 1.78 USDT, roughly 60% less.

A few places where you can end up paying more: take-profit and stop-loss orders triggered at market, and one-click close, are all charged as Taker; reversing a position is a close plus an open, so you pay Taker twice and save nothing. On spot at VIP 0, Maker and Taker are both 0.05%, so limit orders don’t save anything there; the difference only shows up on futures. When you place a futures order manually, you can tick Post-Only (Maker only): if the order would fill immediately, the system cancels it instead of charging you the Taker rate (Pionex manual futures trading guide). For the gap between Maker and Taker rates across 13 exchanges, see Maker vs Taker fees.

How much are Pionex spot fees?

ItemVIP 0 rateVIP discount appliesCounts toward referral rebate
Regular spot pairs0.05%Yes (Maker only)Yes
Stablecoin pairs (USDC/USDT, etc.)0.05%YesYes
Leveraged tokens0.1%NoYes
Tokenized stocks (spot)0.1%NoNo
Spot Innovation Zone0.5%NoNot stated officially
MEME Guru tokens1%NoNo

The formula is: spot fee = quantity filled × average fill price × 0.05%, charged once when you buy and again when you sell. Pionex’s official example buys 0.1 BTC at an average price of 90,000 USDT: the trade is worth 9,000 USDT and the fee is 4.5 USDT (Pionex fee calculation guide). Trades in tokenized stocks and MEME Guru tokens go through the blockchain, and Pionex says the higher rates cover on-chain costs; neither category earns referral commission (Pionex rebate rules v3).

The cost of a round trip: buying BTC with 1,000 USDT costs 0.5 USDT in fees; selling later at the same price costs another 0.5 USDT. The round trip is about 0.1%, so the price has to rise more than 0.1% before you start making money. Put the same 1,000 USDT into leveraged tokens and the round trip is 0.2%.

Swapping stablecoins costs a fee too: converting 1,000 USDC to USDT on Pionex through the USDC/USDT pair is charged 0.05%, or 0.5 USDT. The official guides don’t state which coin the fee is actually deducted from; to see how much was deducted on each trade, check the history under “Trade” → “Spot”.

How are Pionex futures fees calculated? Are you charged on both opening and closing?

ContractMakerTakerNotes
USDT-margined futures (perpetual)0.02%0.05%Margin in USDT
Coin-margined futures (perpetual)Not listed separately by PionexFees are first recorded in the coin itself
Tokenized stock futuresNot listed separately by PionexRebate rules follow regular futures

All Pionex futures are perpetual contracts, and fees are calculated on “notional value,” not on margin. The official formula is: notional value = margin × leverage, fee = notional value × fee rate, charged once on opening and once on closing (Pionex fee calculation guide). For how notional value is calculated, with worked examples for 13 exchanges, see how futures fees are calculated.

Worked example: with 1,000 USDT of margin at 10x leverage, the notional value is 1,000 × 10 = 10,000 USDT. Opening with a market order (Taker): 10,000 × 0.05% = 5 USDT; closing with a market order: another 5 USDT. The round trip costs 10 USDT, or 1% of your margin. Using Maker orders on both sides costs 10,000 × 0.02% × 2 = 4 USDT. The same 1,000 USDT at 20x, all Taker, costs 20 USDT.

Watch this when reading your profit and loss: the PNL shown on the futures page is unrealized profit or loss before fees, and what you actually receive after closing is the PNL minus the closing fee. In the official example, the PNL shows a 20 USDT gain, the closing fee is 0.5 USDT, and 19.5 USDT is credited.

The liquidation fee is a much bigger cost. Pionex’s example: on a 20,000 USDT BTCUSDT long, closing it yourself with a market order costs at most 20,000 × 0.05% = 10 USDT in fees; if the position is fully liquidated, the liquidation fee rate is 1.75%, so you pay 20,000 × 1.75% = 350 USDT. Pionex also notes that the rates in the document may not be the latest; check the liquidation fee rate for each pair in the app under “Markets” → “Futures” → the trading pair → “Information” → “Details” (Pionex liquidation guide). Leveraged positions may be force-liquidated when the price moves against you, and you can lose your entire margin. Before opening a position, you can estimate the liquidation price with the liquidation price calculator and add up fees and funding together with the perpetual futures cost calculator.

How does Pionex charge for Grid, Martingale and Futures Moon bots?

Pionex states that trading bots such as Spot Grid, Futures Grid, Martingale and the Rebalancing Bot are all free to use, with no subscription or management fee; you pay only the regular trading fee when a bot actually buys or sells (Pionex trading fee overview). The catch is that a bot may fill many trades a day, and each one carries a fee. How finely to split a grid, and how wide each grid needs to be so fees don’t eat the profit, I worked out separately in Pionex grid bot fees.

  • Spot Grid: you pay once on every buy and once on every sell, so one complete “buy low, sell high” cycle is two fees of 0.05% (Pionex Spot Grid FAQ). In other words, the price gap per grid has to be larger than about 0.1% to leave a profit after fees. The per-grid profit shown on the bot page already has fees deducted.
  • Futures Grid: it places limit orders on the order book, so the 0.02% Maker rate applies. Official example: 500 USDT of margin, 10x, 20 grids gives a notional value of 5,000 USDT, about 250 USDT per grid, and a fee of 250 × 0.02% = 0.05 USDT per fill; 10 triggers a day comes to about 0.5 USDT. At that pace for 30 days, fees come to about 15 USDT. A Futures Grid holds futures positions, so funding fees settle as usual; those are counted separately.
  • Futures Moon: Pionex says this is the only exception to how bots are charged. No trading fees are charged while it runs; when you close the order, reduce the position or withdraw profits, it takes 20% of total profit as an order management fee, and nothing if there’s no profit (Pionex Futures Moon guide).
  • Copying a KOL’s bot: a profit share is charged only if the copied bot is in profit when it closes, at a percentage set by the KOL; for bots copied through “Discover” in the copy-trading section, Pionex takes 50% of the profit share collected and the KOL gets the other 50%. Nothing is charged on a loss or break-even (Pionex guide to copying a KOL’s bot).
  • Pionex.AI subscription: this is a separate AI assistant service (beta) with four plans: Free, Plus at 8 USDT a month, Pro at 20 USDT a month and Max at 100 USDT a month, and it doesn’t renew automatically. You don’t need a subscription to use the regular trading bots (Pionex.AI pricing plans).

To judge whether Futures Moon is worth it, use Pionex’s own example: 0.1 BTC per grid, buying at 100,000 and selling at 100,100 USDT. On a regular Futures Grid this grid earns 10 USDT; minus about 4.002 USDT in Maker fees on both sides, about 5.998 USDT is left. Futures Moon charges no fees, so this grid keeps 10 USDT, and if the order is profitable overall, 20% comes off at the end, leaving 8 USDT for every 10 USDT. The denser the grids and the smaller the price gaps, the bigger the share of profit that fees take, and the more Futures Moon’s pricing works in your favor; on the other hand, it charges on total profit, not just grid earnings.

Futures Moon charges no trading fees while it runs, so there’s no fee to reduce; the 20% management fee isn’t among the products listed in Pionex’s rebate rules, and the rules state that products not listed don’t count toward rebates by default.

How do Pionex VIP tiers work?

Under Pionex’s rules from 2026-09-04, you move up a tier by meeting any one of the four criteria below, and the system automatically applies the highest tier you qualify for. The four criteria are 30-day spot volume, 30-day futures volume, net assets held on the day, and 30-day average daily asset balance. Net assets are snapshotted once a day at UTC 00:00 (8 a.m. Taiwan time), cover your main account, futures account and Pionex Card account, and are converted to USDT (Pionex VIP tier rule changes).

Tier30-day spot volume (BTC equivalent)30-day futures volume (USDT)Balance on the day or 30-day daily average (USDT)Spot Maker / TakerFutures Maker / Taker
Regular (VIP 0)≥0≥0≥00.050% / 0.05%0.020% / 0.050%
VIP 1≥20≥3,000,000≥50,0000.048% / 0.05%0.019% / 0.048%
VIP 2≥30≥5,000,000≥100,0000.045% / 0.05%0.018% / 0.045%
VIP 3≥75≥10,000,000≥200,0000.040% / 0.05%0.016% / 0.040%
VIP 4≥120≥50,000,000≥500,0000.035% / 0.05%0.014% / 0.040%
VIP 5≥180≥100,000,000≥1,000,0000.030% / 0.05%0.012% / 0.035%

Two things stand out in this table. First, spot Taker is 0.05% at every tier from Regular to VIP 10; VIP lowers only spot Maker and futures rates, so if you usually place market orders on spot, moving up a tier saves you nothing. Second, VIP 1 brings futures Taker down only from 0.050% to 0.048%, which saves 60 USDT on 3 million USDT of monthly futures volume. Leveraged tokens, tokenized stocks (spot), the Spot Innovation Zone and MEME are fixed-rate and get no VIP discount.

VIP also affects the referral relationship: Pionex states that when the referrer isn’t a KOL, once the invitee reaches VIP 2 or above, the referrer no longer receives full commission on that invitee (Pionex rebate rules v3). Holding 100,000 USDT in net assets is now enough on its own to reach VIP 2, so people with larger balances should keep this in mind. For how rebates change after you move up a tier, see Do you still get rebates after a VIP upgrade.

Does Pionex have a platform token discount?

No. Pionex hasn’t issued a platform token and has no “pay fees with a certain token for a discount” feature; the only fee reduction listed in the official fee overview is the VIP tier. So on Pionex there are only three ways to bring fees down: use more Maker orders on futures (or use Futures Grid), get a fee reduction with a referral code, or reach a VIP tier through trading volume or assets. The upside is that you don’t have to hold a token whose price goes up and down just to get a discount.

Do Pionex funding rates count as trading fees?

Funding fees on perpetual futures are periodic payments between longs and shorts that keep the contract price close to spot. When the rate is positive, longs pay shorts; when it’s negative, shorts pay longs. Pionex states that it doesn’t collect any funding fees, and the payments flow entirely between traders (Pionex funding fee guide). For settlement intervals and rate caps across 13 exchanges, see what the funding rate is.

  • Settlement times: major coins such as BTC and ETH settle every 8 hours, at UTC 00:00, 08:00 and 16:00 (08:00, 16:00 and midnight 00:00 Taiwan time); highly volatile or popular coins settle every 4 hours; in extreme markets settlement may switch to every hour. Check the countdown on the trading page for the next settlement.
  • How it’s calculated: funding fee = position size × mark price × funding rate. You pay or receive it only if you hold a position at the moment of settlement, and system processing may be off by up to 1 minute either way.
  • No rebate: the referral code’s fee reduction is based on trading fees; funding fees go to the other side of the trade, not to Pionex, so they’re outside the reduction.

Suppose the funding rate is 0.01% (just an example; the actual rate differs each period): a 10,000 USDT position pays 1 USDT per settlement. At every 8 hours with the rate unchanged, that’s 3 USDT a day, and holding for 4 days comes to 12 USDT, already more than the Taker fees on a round trip (10 USDT). Pionex’s own example is 100 USDT at 100x, a 10,000 USDT position paying 1 USDT per settlement, which eats 1% of the margin each time. Run a Futures Grid for a few weeks and funding fees may exceed the grid’s trading fees.

Does Pionex charge for deposits, withdrawals, Convert and card purchases?

  • Crypto deposits: free, but each coin and each network has a minimum deposit amount (Pionex crypto withdrawal fee guide).
  • Withdrawals: a fixed withdrawal fee is charged depending on the coin and network; see the table below. The same coin can cost very different amounts on different networks, so pick a network the receiving side also supports.
  • Internal transfers: to send to another Pionex account, use “Internal Quick Transfer” with the recipient’s 8-digit UID. It’s free and arrives instantly, with a minimum of 2 USDT. If you make an on-chain withdrawal to a Pionex user’s address, the screen still shows an estimated fee, but it’s actually waived too (Pionex Internal Quick Transfer guide).
  • Convert: Pionex states it charges no fee, but Pionex acts as the counterparty and the quote may include slippage; for a better price, it suggests trading spot manually (Pionex Convert guide).
  • Buying crypto with a card: Visa and Mastercard are supported. In New Taiwan dollars (TWD), each purchase can be TWD 400–90,000, with limits of 2,000 USDC a day and 6,000 USDC a month; cards issued in Taiwan count as non-EEA, with a 2.6%–2.8% fee plus a fixed fee of up to 0.5 U (Pionex bank card purchase FAQ). On a TWD 10,000 purchase, the fee alone is TWD 260–280, about 52–56 times the fee on a spot trade.
  • C2C (P2P): Pionex C2C trading fees are 0%, but it’s currently open only to users in 12 countries and regions, including Algeria, Egypt, India, Nigeria and the UAE; Taiwan isn’t on the list (Pionex C2C guide).

The table above was read from the Pionex crypto withdrawal fee guide on 2026-10-11. Fees change, so go by the amount shown on the withdrawal page before you confirm. Withdrawing the same 100 USDT costs 1 USDT on TRC20 but only 0.2 USDT on BEP20, provided the receiving exchange or wallet supports that network.

USDT withdrawal fees: checked again on 2026-10-12, Pionex charges 0.011 USDT for USDT on Plasma, 0.025 USDT on Optimism, 0.081 USDT on Avalanche C-Chain, 0.13 USDT on Arbitrum One, 0.2 USDT on BEP20, 0.518 USDT on Solana, 1 USDT on TRC20 and 1.0522 USDT on ERC20; TON and Polygon aren’t on Pionex’s list of USDT networks. For fees and minimum withdrawals by network on 13 exchanges, see USDT withdrawal fees compared.

How do I check my own Pionex fee tier?

  • VIP tier and rates: on the web, log in and open the Pionex VIP tier page; in the app, go to “Home” → “My Account” → “VIP Level”.
  • How much was deducted on each trade: in the app, tap “Trade” at the bottom, choose “USDT-M”, “Coin-M” or “Spot”, then tap “History” on the right of the orders area; for bot orders, tap the clock icon on the right of “Bot” → “My Bots” (Pionex guide to closed orders and trade history).
  • Your referral code’s fee reduction percentage: in the app, “Home” → your avatar in the top-left corner → “Referrer Invitation Code”; on the web, your avatar in the top-right corner → “Account Overview” → the “i” next to the invitation code.
  • Records of reductions paid: in the app, “Home” → “My Account” → “Deposit” → the clock icon → swipe right to the “Invitee Cashback” tab; on the web, “More” in the top menu → “Rebate” (Pionex: checking your cashback ratio and records).

What do you actually pay after the Pionex referral code fee discount?

Pionex’s referral code benefit is essentially a fee reduction, which Pionex calls “invitee cashback” or a “fee discount.” The rule: the referrer gets a fixed 20% rebate on spot and 15% on futures, and can pass part of it to the invitee as a fee discount; the split is set when the referral code is created and can’t be changed afterward. It’s calculated on the fees each of your trades actually generates, regardless of trading pair or Maker/Taker, and covers spot, leveraged tokens and futures (Pionex rebate rules v3).

  • How it’s paid: the reduction doesn’t appear on the order page or in the fee field; it’s paid back to your account separately in USDT after trades settle, and the records update hourly. Fees on coin-margined futures are first recorded in the coin itself and converted to USDT at the market price when paid out, for both manual trading and bots (Pionex rebate program FAQ).
  • Trades that don’t count: tokenized stocks (spot) and MEME don’t count; Futures Moon charges no trading fees while it runs, so there’s nothing to reduce.
  • Conditions to watch: the invitee must make a first deposit and a first trade within 30 days of sign-up, or later trades won’t count toward rebates; a valid user’s cumulative deposits must reach 100 USDT. When the referrer isn’t a KOL, commission covers only trades made within 365 days of the invitee’s sign-up. If the referrer’s account stops being eligible, the invitee stops receiving cashback too. Once a referral relationship is bound, it can’t be changed or removed.

Take someone doing 300,000 USDT of futures volume a month: all Taker, fees are 300,000 × 0.05% = 150 USDT; all Maker, they’re 300,000 × 0.02% = 60 USDT. The earlier Futures Grid with 500 USDT, 10x and 20 grids, triggering 10 times a day, costs about 15 USDT in fees a month. The fee reduction returns part of these fees on top of that; use the calculators below for the amount, which update with the current percentage.

What are the ways to save on Pionex fees?

Ranked for typical retail trading volumes, starting with the biggest impact:

  1. Switch to Maker orders on futures: going from Taker 0.05% to Maker 0.02% saves 60%. On 300,000 USDT of monthly futures volume, fees drop from 150 USDT to 60 USDT. For manual orders you can tick Post-Only, and Futures Grid uses Maker orders anyway; setting take-profit and stop-loss to trigger limit orders also gives you a better chance of getting the Maker rate. On spot at VIP 0, Maker and Taker are the same, so this only helps on futures.
  2. Change how you deposit and withdraw: buying crypto with a Taiwan-issued card costs 2.6%–2.8%, more than 50 times the spot trading fee. With larger amounts, converting to USDT on another platform first and transferring it in on-chain (Pionex deposits are free) is usually much cheaper; for withdrawals, choose a low-fee network the other side supports, and use free internal transfers to send to friends on Pionex.
  3. Sign up with a referral code for a fee reduction: you don’t have to change how you trade; part of the fee comes back on spot, leveraged token, futures and bot trades, and you can work out the amount with the calculators above. Enter it when you sign up, because adding it later has a deadline; see Can you add a referral code after signing up.
  4. Avoid high-fee products and unnecessary conversions: leveraged tokens and tokenized stocks (spot) are 0.1%, the Spot Innovation Zone is 0.5% and MEME Guru is 1%, 2 to 20 times regular spot; swapping between USDC and USDT costs 0.05% too. Convert charges no fee, but the quote may include slippage, so for larger amounts a spot limit order gives you better control over the price.
  5. VIP tiers: VIP 1 requires 20 BTC of 30-day spot volume, 3 million USDT of futures volume or 50,000 USDT in assets, which most people won’t easily reach; and spot Taker stays at 0.05% at every tier, while VIP 1 futures Taker only drops to 0.048%. Below that trading volume, the first four methods are more practical.

FAQ

What are Pionex’s trading fees?

For regular users, spot fees are 0.05% (same for Maker and Taker), and futures are 0.02% Maker and 0.05% Taker. Leveraged tokens and tokenized stocks (spot) are 0.1%, the Spot Innovation Zone is 0.5% and MEME Guru tokens are 1%; these are fixed rates with no VIP discount. For the rates that apply to you, go by the VIP tier page after logging in.

Do Pionex bots cost extra?

No. Bots such as Grid and Martingale are free to use, and you pay only the regular trading fee when they fill: 0.05% per trade on Spot Grid, while Futures Grid uses limit orders and gets the 0.02% Maker rate. The exception is Futures Moon, which charges no fees while it runs and takes 20% of total profit when there’s a profit; copying a KOL’s bot charges the KOL’s profit share when it’s in profit.

How are Pionex futures fees calculated?

Notional value × fee rate, charged once on opening and once on closing. With 1,000 USDT of margin at 10x, the notional value is 10,000 USDT, and a round trip with Taker orders costs 10,000 × 0.05% × 2 = 10 USDT. Fees are based on notional value, not margin, so the higher the leverage, the higher the fees; the PNL shown on the futures page also doesn’t yet include the closing fee.

Where can I see my Pionex fees?

On the website, log in and open the Pionex VIP level page to see your tier and rates; in the app, it’s “Home” → “My account” → “VIP level”. To see how much was actually charged on each trade, check “History” on the right of the orders area on the “Trade” page; bot orders are under “Bot” → “My bots”.

Why was I charged the Taker fee on a limit order?

Because your limit order filled as soon as it was submitted. If a buy price is above the current ask, or a sell price is below the current bid, the system fills it right away at the best market price, and that counts as Taker. Another common cause is take-profit or stop-loss set to trigger at market: once triggered it fills at market, which is also Taker. To make sure you only pay the Maker rate, tick Post-Only when placing orders manually.

What are Pionex’s withdrawal fees?

A fixed amount depending on the coin and network. As of 2026-10-11, the official table lists USDT at 1 USDT on TRC20, 0.2 USDT on BEP20 and 1.0522 USDT on ERC20, and BTC at 0.000018 BTC on the BTC mainnet. Crypto deposits are free, and internal transfers to other Pionex accounts cost nothing either. Go by the amount shown on the withdrawal page.

How much does Pionex charge to withdraw USDT?

Checked on 2026-10-12, withdrawing USDT from Pionex costs 0.011 USDT on Plasma, 0.2 USDT on BEP20, 1 USDT on TRC20 and 1.0522 USDT on ERC20. Sending to another Pionex account with the internal quick transfer is free; for a comparison of 13 exchanges, see USDT withdrawal fees compared.

Where can I see my referral code’s fee reduction?

The percentage is in the app under “Home” → your avatar in the top-left corner → “Referrer Invitation Code”, and the records are under “My Account” → “Deposit” → the clock icon → the “Invitee Cashback” tab. The reduction doesn’t appear on the order page; it’s paid separately in USDT after settlement and updates hourly, so it’s normal not to see it right after a trade fills.
