How to Change Your Pionex Referral Code: 14-Day/3-Day Window and Account Deletion Rules (2026)

Updated Rules checked 2026-10-11

Pionex lets you add a referral code after sign-up, but the window is short: within 14 days of sign-up, or only 3 days after sign-up if you’ve already placed trade orders. Once a referral code is bound, Pionex states that it can’t be changed, removed or transferred, and Pionex support can’t switch it for you either. So on Pionex, “switching” a referral code means only one of two things: adding a referral code yourself while you’re still within the window, or, if you’re already bound or past the window, deleting your old account and opening a new one. That second route comes with a 30-day waiting period and a clause that lets Pionex claw back rebates.

No referrer yet: how do you add a Pionex referral code?

Pionex’s help article on adding a referral code says you can enter an invitation code within 14 days of sign-up; if you’ve opened orders and traded since signing up, you can enter one only within 3 days of sign-up (Pionex help: adding a referral code). The Chinese version explicitly counts both manual and bot trading, and the English version says “placed trade orders,” so manual orders also cut the window to 3 days. Both windows count from your sign-up date.

  1. Web: after logging in, click your avatar in the top-right corner → “Account Overview” → “Bind” next to the invitation code, enter the referral code, then click “Confirm”.
  2. App: after logging in, tap “Pionex” → your avatar → “Referrer Invitation Code”, enter the referral code, then tap “Confirm”.
  3. Check the referral code once more before you submit. Pionex states that a wrong code can’t be undone either, and Pionex can’t help correct it.

The safest order is to add the referral code first, then deposit, start a bot or place manual orders. Menu names vary by app version and interface language; if you can’t find the option, look for “Invitation Code” or “Referral Code”. To use only the referral code without a rebate site, see Pionex referral code.

Already bound or past the deadline: can you still change referrers on Pionex?

Pionex’s help article on adding a referral code states that once bound, the code is permanently attached to your account and “cannot be changed, removed or transferred under any circumstances.” Its rebate program FAQ also says a referral code can’t be modified or removed once it’s bound to an account (Pionex rebate program FAQ). Pionex has no switch request, and no reassignment after inactivity. Two methods circulate online; here is what Pionex’s official pages say about each.

Method 1: delete the old account, then register a new one

Pionex’s account deletion guide (How to delete your account (web)) sets out these conditions:

  • Your account assets must be worth less than 10 USDT before you can request deletion; any remaining assets are wiped when the account is deleted and can’t be recovered. The path is your avatar in the top-right corner → “Account Security” → “Delete Account”. The account holder must do it personally and enter their ID document number at the end.
  • Deletion can’t be undone. The KYC2 identity verification data linked to the account is deleted along with it.
  • “A new account can be created only after 30 days from the date the account is formally deleted”; your original email address and phone number also can’t be used again until 30 days have passed.
  • The new account has to wait 30 days and then complete KYC2 again through the normal process. Another Pionex article also states that Level 2 verification is tied to a single identity, can be completed on only one account, and requires a 30-day wait after deletion (Pionex identity verification help).

Fee Otter’s Pionex guide says that after deletion you can immediately register a new account with a new email address, trade once you finish Level 1 verification (country or region and the name on your ID), and add Level 2 verification after 30 days; it says this was confirmed with Pionex support in September 2026. Pionex’s official KYC article does say Level 1 verification is enough to deposit and trade (Pionex KYC levels explained), but the deletion guide says a new account can be created only after 30 days. The two don’t match, so before deleting your account, ask Pionex support first and keep their reply.

Two more rules to know up front. Pionex’s rebate rules state: “If you obtain Pionex rebate benefits by registering a new account yourself, inviting yourself or similar means rather than by inviting new users, Pionex has the right to reclaim the rebates already paid.” The same rules also say an invited user must make a first deposit and trade within 30 calendar days of sign-up; otherwise later trades don’t count toward the inviter’s rebates (Pionex rebate rules). If you open a new account, remember to deposit and trade within 30 days.

Method 2: use a different ID document, or ask support to transfer your identity verification

Pionex states that switching to a different ID document doesn’t let you skip the 30-day wait either. No process for transferring identity verification to another account can be found in Pionex’s help center, and Fee Otter’s guide also says Pionex support replied in September 2026 that KYC transfers aren’t supported. Don’t register or verify with another person’s identity; it isn’t a workable way to switch referrers.

How do you confirm your Pionex referral code was added?

Once the code is added, rebates from your trading are paid in USDT to your main account, and the records update hourly. In the app, check Home → My Account → Deposit → the clock icon → “Invitee Cashback”; on the web, go to More → Rebate. Rebates count only from trades made after binding; fees you paid before aren’t refunded retroactively. For other exchanges, see the referral code lookup guide.

How do you bind Pionex through Fee Otter?

  1. Sign up for Fee Otter.
  2. Within the window, add Fee Otter’s Pionex invitation code FEEOTTER. If you don’t have an account yet, sign up through Fee Otter’s Pionex sign-up link and check that the field is filled in before you submit.
  3. Copy your Pionex UID and bind it on Fee Otter. It needs only your UID, never your password, a verification code or an API key.

Fee Otter’s rebate page lists Pionex at 50% (a 15% automatic fee rebate from the exchange plus a 35% extra rebate from Fee Otter) (checked 2026-10-11). The extra 35% is paid by Fee Otter, not the exchange, and not Kevin Wu; for how rebate sites differ, see how to choose a rebate site.

What are the risks of switching on Pionex?

  • A wrong code can’t be changed: once bound, the referral code is permanent, and Pionex can’t help correct it.
  • Deletion can’t be undone: remaining assets under 10 USDT are wiped, and the old account’s bots, orders and records don’t carry over to the new account.
  • Rebates may be clawed back: Pionex states it has the right to reclaim rebate benefits obtained by registering a new account yourself.
  • Rebates have a time limit: Pionex’s rules state that for regular inviters (non-KOL), the commission period is 365 calendar days after the invitee signs up; the period that applies to promotion partners isn’t publicly stated.
  • Give only your UID: never hand over your password, a verification code or an API key to anyone who asks; see how to spot a rebate scam.

FAQ

Can I change my Pionex referral code?

No. Pionex states that once a referral code is bound, it can’t be changed, removed or transferred, even if you entered it by mistake. If you want a different referrer, the only route left is deleting the old account and opening a new one; see Method 1 above for the conditions and risks.

Can I add a Pionex referral code after signing up?

Yes, as long as you don’t have a referrer yet: within 14 days of sign-up, or only within 3 days of sign-up if you’ve placed trade orders since signing up.

Do manual orders alone count as “placing orders”?

Yes. Pionex’s Chinese help article on adding a referral code covers both manual and bot trading, so the claim online that “only bot trading cuts the window to 3 days” doesn’t match Pionex’s current official guidance.

After deleting a Pionex account, how long until I can sign up again?

Pionex’s deletion guide says you can create a new account only after 30 days, and your original email and phone number also can’t be reused until 30 days have passed; Level 2 verification on the new account likewise requires a 30-day wait. Fee Otter says you can register right away with a new email and trade with Level 1 verification. That doesn’t match Pionex’s official guidance, so ask Pionex support first.

How much rebate do I get after switching?

It depends on whose referral code you bind. If you bind Fee Otter’s and link your UID, Fee Otter’s rebate page lists Pionex at 50% (a 15% automatic fee rebate from the exchange plus a 35% extra rebate from Fee Otter) (checked 2026-10-11). To use only the referral code, see Pionex referral code.

To compare the add-later windows and switching options across exchanges, see how to switch referral codes on exchanges and can you add a referral code after sign-up. If you bound a referral code but haven’t received rebates, see what to do if your referral rebate hasn’t arrived; common reasons rebates get canceled are covered in rebate cancellation rules, and every exchange’s referral code is in the exchange referral code overview.
